Job description

Fractional Business Development & Client Relationships Partner – APAC

Location: Seoul, South Korea – Remote
Engagement: Independent Consultancy
Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month
Company: Rosie's People Limited
Reporting to: Founder & CEO
Remuneration: Guaranteed consultancy fee calculated by reference to the applicable local minimum wage + generous success-based commission

About the Opportunity

Rosie's People is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Fractional Business Development & Client Relationships Partner to help grow our client portfolio across South Korea, Asia-Pacific and international markets.

This is a flexible fractional opportunity requiring approximately 10 hours per month, designed for an experienced professional who understands the APAC business environment and has established commercial relationships and networks they can credibly develop.

We are looking for someone who can open doors, close business and build strong, lasting client relationships.

This is not simply a lead-generation or appointment-setting role. You will be expected to identify and develop commercially viable opportunities, build relationships with senior decision-makers and convert opportunities into paying business.

Although the role is advertised from South Korea, the commercial remit extends across APAC and internationally. We are particularly interested in candidates with established relationships across one or more APAC markets and experience working with internationally focused and/or English-speaking organisations and decision-makers.

If you can identify and secure good business in another market, we want to hear about it.

About Rosie's People

Rosie's People is a multi-award-winning international executive consultancy providing leadership, HR/People, recruitment and business operations solutions to organisations across multiple sectors and continents.

Our clients range from ambitious growth businesses to established organisations, and we are proud of our ability to work across sectors, geographies and different stages of organisational growth. Our services include executive and specialist recruitment, HR/People consultancy, leadership and organisational development, training and business operations support.

We are particularly interested in developing relationships with ambitious, professionally run organisations that value high-quality external expertise and have the appetite to grow and compete internationally.

Across APAC, this may include growth organisations across technology, AI, fintech, SaaS and other innovative sectors, as well as established and multinational businesses with significant organisational, People, recruitment, leadership or operational requirements. We work across sectors. What matters to us is the quality, ambition, conduct/professionalism and commercial fit of the client.

Before applying, we encourage you to research Rosie's People, our services, the calibre of organisations we have supported and our TICK values. Understanding who we are and how we operate will be important to succeeding in this opportunity.

Application Process & Mandatory Questions

Please read the full job description before submitting your application.

As part of your application, please answer all mandatory questions below within your covering letter/notes or as part of your CV. You may include everything within one document if preferred.

We will not progress applications that do not answer all mandatory questions.

1. Where are you currently based, and are you able to provide independent consultancy services from your location?

Please state your city and country.

2. This opportunity includes a guaranteed consultancy fee calculated by reference to the applicable local minimum wage rate for approximately 10 hours of services per month, plus a generous success-based commission.

Please state the applicable local minimum wage rate where you are based, in your local currency, and confirm that you understand and are comfortable with this remuneration structure.

The financial upside of this opportunity is deliberately performance-led. Candidates seeking a higher guaranteed hourly consultancy rate should therefore consider whether this opportunity is suitable before applying.

3. What individual business development, sales or revenue targets have you personally been responsible for during the last three years?

Please tell us what the targets were and approximately what percentage of the target you achieved. If you regularly exceeded your targets, please tell us by approximately how much.

4. What types of B2B professional, consultancy or business services have you personally sold, and who were the typical decision-makers you sold to?

Please keep your answer concise and be specific about both the services and the level/type of buyer.

5. Tell us about one client or commercial relationship that you personally originated and subsequently developed into repeat business.

Please keep your answer concise.

6. Which APAC markets and senior decision-maker networks can you credibly access today?

Please identify the markets and briefly explain the types of professional relationships you have developed rather than simply listing countries or industries.

7. In which APAC or international markets have you personally and successfully secured new business?

Please identify the markets, briefly describe the type of business secured and explain your personal role in winning it.

8. What is your level of proficiency in English and any other languages relevant to the markets in which you operate?

Please state your proficiency in each language and whether you have previously conducted senior-level business development, negotiation or client relationship management in those languages.

9. This opportunity is offered on a self-employed independent consultancy basis with a UK company rather than through a local employing entity. It initially requires approximately 10 hours per month. Are you comfortable working on this basis?

Key Responsibilities

The successful consultant will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, developing and converting new commercial opportunities across APAC and relevant international markets.
  • Building relationships with founders, CEOs, senior executives, HR/People leaders and other key decision-makers.
  • Generating new business across Rosie's People's range of consultancy services.
  • Qualifying prospective clients and commercial opportunities.
  • Ensuring prospective clients are appropriately aligned with Rosie's People's standards, ways of working and TICK values. We are comfortable declining or ending client relationships where that alignment does not exist.
  • Negotiating and closing commercially viable business.
  • Managing and developing client relationships.
  • Maintaining appropriate communication with clients and the Rosie's People team.
  • Supporting client retention, account development and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Developing repeat business from existing relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities with ambitious organisations experiencing growth, expansion or organisational change.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date pipeline and company records.
  • Attending agreed Business Development meetings and providing appropriate updates.
  • Representing Rosie's People professionally and protecting the company's brand, reputation and commercial interests.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in consultative B2B business development, professional-services sales, client relationships or account management.

You should have:

  • A strong track record of personally generating and closing business.
  • Experience selling B2B services or solutions to founders, CEOs, HR/People leaders, senior executives or other organisational decision-makers.
  • Experience working against individual sales, revenue or business-development targets.
  • Evidence of meeting and ideally exceeding commercial targets.
  • Strong relationship-building and client-management capability.
  • Confidence engaging founders, executives and other senior organisational decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial judgement, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • An established professional network within one or more APAC markets.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships that generate repeat business.
  • The confidence and drive to proactively pursue new commercial opportunities.
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Strong communication, organisation and follow-through.
  • Good administrative discipline and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively within an international, remote-first team.
  • Strong written and spoken English.

Additional Asian-language capability and experience developing business across multiple APAC or international markets would be particularly valuable.

Experience within executive search, recruitment, professional services, consultancy, HR/People services, organisational development, training, fractional services, technology, fintech, SaaS or the startup/growth ecosystem would be advantageous.

We are particularly interested in commercially hungry people who know how to find, secure and close sophisticated B2B service opportunities, while understanding that the quality and long-term value of the client relationship matters.

This opportunity is not intended for junior appointment setters or candidates whose experience is primarily transactional or consumer sales.

What We Offer

Rosie's People is proudly a remote-first organisation.

This opportunity is designed around an initial commitment of approximately 10 hours per month, providing significant flexibility for an experienced professional who may have other professional or business commitments.

You will have significant autonomy over how you organise your working time and commercial activity. We do not micromanage experienced professionals; we expect ownership, communication, professionalism and results.

This is a paid consultancy opportunity combining a guaranteed consultancy fee calculated by reference to the applicable local minimum wage rate with a generous success-based commission structure.

The opportunity is intentionally performance-led and is designed for commercially confident professionals who believe their network, relationships and business-development capability can generate significantly greater earnings through successful business conversion.

You will also have:

  • Significant flexibility and autonomy over your working arrangements.
  • The opportunity to generate business across multiple sectors and consultancy services.
  • The freedom to develop opportunities across APAC and international markets.
  • Direct interaction with our Founder & CEO and wider international team.
  • The opportunity to work with an established, multi-award-winning international executive consultancy.

Engagement Status

For clarity, this opportunity is offered as an independent consultancy engagement.

It is not being offered as permanent or salaried employment.

Successful consultants will provide services on a self-employed basis and will be expected to submit invoices for approved consultancy fees and any other amounts due in accordance with the agreed commercial terms.

The guaranteed consultancy fee is calculated by reference to the applicable local minimum wage rate in the consultant's location as a commercial fee benchmark for the engagement. The detailed terms of the engagement, commission arrangements and performance framework will be provided to successful candidates as part of the consultancy agreement.

If you have the network, commercial confidence and drive to build business, we would like to hear from you.

Rosie's People is a remote-first, inclusive and equal opportunities consultancy. If you require any reasonable adjustments during our recruitment process, please include a Reasonable Adjustment Request section within your cover letter.
