Position Summary

This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotations for sheet metal fabrication projects by reviewing customer drawings, specifications, and requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, material selection, and production routing to develop competitive and profitable quotes.

Job Responsibilities

· Reviewing customer drawings, prints, specifications, and RFQs.

· Develop accurate manufacturing cost estimates for fabricated sheet metal components and assemblies.

· Calculate material, labor, machine, and outside processing costs.

· Estimate process time for fabrication operations including, but not limited to: laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, machining, hardware insertion, finishing and powder coating, and assembly.

· Determine appropriate manufacturing processes and routing.

· Work closely with Sales Engineers, Production, and Sales Engineering Manager to clarify quote requirements. Position to report to ERP Manager.

· Identify potential manufacturing efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.

· Ensure quotes are completed by JR Metal Works standards and within customer deadlines.

· Communicate professionally with internal teams regarding quote status and technical questions.

· Continuously improve estimating accuracy through feedback from completed jobs.

Qualifications

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication estimating, quoting, manufacturing engineering, or a similar role.

· Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

· Understanding of manufacturing process times and labor standards.

· Strong analytical skills.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft software.

Compensation: $65K+
