PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Ergonomics Specialist performs standardized ergonomic assessments of workspaces, job tasks, and equipment; documents ergonomic exposures; and recommends practical controls within established guidelines. This role supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of ergonomic program strategies; assesses ergonomic exposures and offers practical solutions to reduce risk; develops and delivers educational programs and materials; serves as a liaison to internal and external groups on ergonomics-related issues and opportunities; and provides guidance on ergonomic issues and program development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Evaluates workplace and job design by conducting ergonomic assessments of office, remote, industrial, and other work environments using approved assessment tools, observation, colleague interviews, measurements, and available work activity and injury data.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates ergonomic program strategies; collaborates with individuals, committees, and teams to audit existing programs, including the development and evaluation of policies, standards, procedures, risk-reduction strategies, training programs, and vendor applications.
• Analyzes workplace injury and loss data; prepares formal reports and presentations addressing findings; and provides advice and counseling to help reduce workplace injuries.
• Develops and delivers approved ergonomic education programs, demonstrations, and job-specific coaching for colleagues, leaders, and clients.
• Develops and delivers approved ergonomic education, demonstrations and job-specific coaching for colleagues, leaders and clients.
• Provides advice and counseling to individuals to reduce musculoskeletal workplace exposures and injuries. Recommends workstation, equipment, tool, task, and workflow adjustments consistent with established ergonomic principles.
• Maintains timely and accurate assessment records, reports, and supporting documentation in designated systems and in accordance with applicable quality and confidentiality requirements.
• Provides guidance regarding compliance with regulatory developments in human factors and ergonomics.
• Works with the sales team to support the development of prospective clients as needed.
• Participates in local and national activities to advance ergonomic knowledge and influence industry practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree in ergonomics, engineering, physical or occupational therapy, kinesiology from an accredited college or university.

Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS) or other related ergonomic certification preferred

Experience

Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 - $85,000/year.  A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
