Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead (SAFe 6.0) - Portugal Full Remote

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join an international healthcare and technology organisation currently evolving its Agile delivery model across several strategic initiatives.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead who can work closely with teams, leadership and programme stakeholders to improve coordination, delivery discipline and Agile ways of working.

This is not a highly mature SAFe environment, so the role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys helping organisations progress pragmatically rather than simply operating within an already established Agile Release Train.

You will have the opportunity to influence how teams collaborate, plan and deliver while supporting an organisation undergoing meaningful change.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

The organisation currently has three major strategic initiatives running in parallel, where cross-team coordination, dependencies and stakeholder alignment are increasingly important.

A new Quarterly Planning approach has recently been introduced, and you will help strengthen this process while supporting teams in improving Agile maturity and delivery predictability.

The environment is international, cross-functional and organisationally complex. You will work with Product, Business, Engineering, Architecture, QA and programme stakeholders with different priorities and levels of Agile maturity.

The role requires someone who can facilitate effectively while also taking ownership, challenging constructively and driving topics forward when there is resistance or competing priorities.

The delivery ecosystem includes SAFe 6.0, Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, Git-based workflows, GitLab CI 16+ / Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices and modern cloud-oriented software delivery environments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• Strong hands-on experience as a Senior Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, Agile Coach or similar Agile delivery role
• Practical experience working within SAFe 5.0 or SAFe 6.0 or another scaled Agile environment
• Experience participating in or organising PI Planning, Quarterly Planning or similar cross-team planning activities
• Strong experience coordinating dependencies, risks, impediments and priorities across multiple teams or initiatives
• Experience working with complex, cross-functional teams involving Business, Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture or other technology functions
• Proven ability to work in organisations where Agile practices are still evolving and not yet fully mature
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority
• Experience managing resistance to change, conflicting priorities and organisational complexity
• Strong ownership and follow-through, with the ability to actively drive initiatives rather than only facilitate ceremonies
• Solid knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and Lean-Agile principles
• Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and modern software delivery processes
• Required language: English C1 or higher

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Previous experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or supporting an RTE
• Experience with Program Management, particularly coordination and dependencies across several initiatives
• SAFe RTE, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist or SPC certification
• Experience introducing or improving Agile practices in environments with limited Agile maturity
• Background in healthcare, pharma, banking, insurance, telecom or another regulated or highly matrixed organisation
• Experience with Jira Data Center / Confluence Data Center latest LTS versions
• Experience with GitLab CI 16+, Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines and cloud delivery environments
• Experience with delivery metrics, Flow Metrics, OKRs or DORA metrics
• Experience coaching Product Owners, Programme Managers or leadership teams
• French language skills are a plus

Compensation: €2,800 – €3,650/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
