Data Analyst

Full-Time | Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Insights Research Assistant Director (IAD), the Data Analyst supports the Insights team within our Product Insights department with data deliverables, quality control, top-line reporting, and analysis across assigned projects. You will validate work to ISO 20252 standards and provide day-to-day guidance and quality review of data tasks. This role has no direct reports.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Data Deliverables & Analysis

  • Own crosstabs and data tables, cleaned client data files, organized open-ended data documents, and JMP files for each assigned survey, including building the data sets for JMP conversion.
  • Set up open-ended data analysis, guide open-ended coding deliverables, and code voluntaries as needed.
  • Analyze survey data to identify patterns, outliers, and notable findings, and flag them to the project team.
  • Build top-line reports, support research summary reports, and create Individual Panelist Sheets as needed.

Quality Control & Data Integrity

  • Validate dataset deliverables to ISO 20252 standards before client delivery.
  • Quality-check deliverables from the Data Processor and Insights Research Assistant and give clear, actionable correction feedback.
  • Maintain data integrity, consistency, and documentation throughout each project; troubleshoot issues and escalate risks to the IAD.
  • Test surveys with the Insights Programmer for accuracy, flow, logic, embedding, and piping, and manage survey test links.

Survey Design & Data Planning

  • Support survey architecture before programming so the design aligns with research objectives.
  • Partner with the IAD on data plans (what data is due to whom, when, and with which client breakouts) and develop analysis plans covering questions, re-codes, and correlations between datasets.
  • Distribute surveys with a working understanding of embedded data, quotas, and complex design options.

Team Support & Coverage

  • Provide day-to-day direction, prioritization, and technical guidance to the Data Processor.
  • Serve as backup for the data-side work of the Insights Research Assistant and Data Processor, and step in on project tracking, FMP entry, and study documentation as needed.
  • Join project kickoffs and check-ins, communicate the status of data tasks, timing, and risks, and make sure internal teams get timely, usable outputs.

Platforms & Continuous Improvement

Use platforms such as CondUX, Qualtrics, SPSS, JMP, and QMOB to meet client needs, stay current on emerging research and data technologies, and contribute to internal technology efforts.
