The Opportunity
At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As an Assistant Account Manager, you'll help build trusted client relationships, deliver exceptional service, and provide proactive guidance that helps clients confidently navigate an evolving risk landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to agency staff and assist with special projects as needed
- Receive incoming telephone calls and visitors while delivering professional customer service
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, shipments, certified mail requests, and office correspondence
- Monitor and distribute incoming emails, faxes, and voicemails according to established procedures
- Prepare binders, reports, presentations, and other business documents as requested
- Scan, organize, and maintain policy documents and agency records within company systems
- Manage office supply inventory and coordinate ordering of office and kitchen supplies
- Assist with meeting preparation, office events, administrative procedures, and operational support activities
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of administrative experience in a professional office environment
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to grammar and detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organization, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including printers, copiers, scanners, and telephone systems
- Strong organizational, proofreading, and document management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an insurance agency, brokerage, or financial services environment
- Familiarity with agency management systems such as Applied Epic or similar platforms
- Experience processing insurance-related documentation and client records
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience coordinating office events, meetings, and administrative projects
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Experience training or assisting new team members on administrative processes
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Compensation
- Hourly Range: $27.00 –$36.00 hourly
