Location: Points of Light is a remote-first organization. Any U.S. location in the Eastern or Central time zone in a market with a major airport. Washington, DC preferred.
Position Summary:
The Vice President (VP), Corporate Programs is the senior operational leader responsible for integrating and scaling Points of Light’s corporate revenue engine—Activation and Consulting & Insights. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Corporate Programs, the VP translates strategy into execution, protects margin and delivery quality, and supports leadership across Corporate Programs. This role drives portfolio performance, operational discipline, and cross-functional alignment for revenue recognition, partnership renewals, and profitability. By collaborating with other departments across the organization, the VP will drive the delivery of Points of Light's corporate volunteer programs with excellence and scalability.
In addition to internal portfolio leadership, this role serves as an external-facing leader, partnering closely with Business Development and Philanthropy teams to drive business development, support complex client relationships, and steward strategic corporate relationships. The VP represents Points of Light in high-stakes client conversations, supports revenue growth through consultative designing and pricing investment, and serves as an executive escalation point for corporate partners and Global Network affiliates.
Position Functions and Responsibilities Include:
Corporate Programs Portfolio Management
- Translate Corporate Programs strategy into operational priorities.
- Oversee day-to-day portfolio health and performance across Corporate Activation and Consulting & Insights.
- Own portfolio KPIs (revenue, margin, program health, partner satisfaction) and lead regular portfolio reviews.
- Lead Corporate Programs performance measurement systems, including KPI development, dashboard reporting, quarterly business reviews, executive updates, portfolio health assessments, and performance improvement planning.
- In collaboration with SVP Business Development, own revenue forecasting across Corporate Programs teams, aligning pipeline projections to recognized revenue targets.
- Lead pricing discipline and margin reviews to ensure proposals are resourced, profitable, and deliverable.
- Ensure capacity planning, resource prioritization, and program delivery standards aligns to pipeline growth and contracted commitments.
- Standardize operational processes and ensure high-quality proposal-to-delivery handoffs.
- Represent operational perspectives in senior leadership forums and support productization for scale.
- Lead the Corporate Programs operating cadence, including departmental business reviews, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), portfolio performance reviews, leadership reporting, and execution tracking across Activation, Consulting & Insights, and other Corporate Programs initiatives.
- Serve as the primary Corporate Programs liaison to Finance, overseeing department budget monitoring, expense management, recognized revenue tracking, forecasting accuracy, and financial reporting. Develop and manage the annual Corporate Programs operating budget in partnership with the SVP, Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer(CMCO), and Finance, including quarterly reforecasting and variance analysis.
- Oversee Corporate Programs contracting and governance processes, including contract approvals, workflow compliance, operational review of Statements of Work, and management of internal approval systems and processes.
- In collaboration with the COO office, own the continuous improvement of Corporate Programs systems, operating procedures, reporting tools, Salesforce workflows, dashboards, and shared resources that support portfolio execution and scalability.
Business Development and External Leadership
- Partner with the SVP and Business Development to assist in the design of, and advance, complex, multi-year corporate engagements and client pitches, ensuring proposals are operationally feasible, appropriately resourced, and positioned for successful delivery.
- Act as a consultative advisor to corporate prospects and partners, converting social impact goals into scalable, revenue-generating solutions and identifying expansion opportunities within existing accounts in partnership with Business Development, ensuring operational readiness to deliver growth.
- Proactively identify and mitigate delivery and margin risks, serving as the executive escalation point for complex client or affiliate issues impacting satisfaction, renewal, or profitability, and elevating to the SVP when appropriate.
- Partner with Product Development and program leaders to operationalize and embed newly developed products, services, and platform solutions into existing Corporate Programs delivery models and workflows.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Corporate Programs operational and program leadership staff, including direct oversight of key department leaders, while building leadership capacity, succession readiness, accountability, and cross-functional alignment across the Corporate Programs portfolio.
- Model executive presence and business development acumen, preparing Directors to lead senior partner conversations, manage complex escalations, and navigate cross-portfolio tradeoffs.
- Lead annual operational planning, department goal tracking, implementation planning, and organizational readiness efforts to ensure alignment between strategy, staffing, financial performance, and delivery commitments.
- Provide the SVP operational capacity by owning people management (including 1:1s, performance calibration, and succession planning) and providing leadership accountability for internal decision-making.
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational and partner issues, ensuring timely resolution while protecting delivery quality, team performance, and renewal outcomes.
Communications and Knowledge Sharing
- Standardize and maintain delivery playbooks, tools, templates and operating procedures that enable consistent, high-quality execution.
- Support development of presentation decks, sales-enablement materials, case studies, and productized content for internal and external audiences.
- Facilitate trainings and capacity-building programs for the Points of Light Global Affiliate Network to strengthen Corporate Activation delivery.
- Contribute to thought leadership and represent Points of Light at select external forums, as appropriate.

Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate programs, program management, consulting, nonprofit accounting or related fields; nonprofit and corporate partnership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of portfolio-level performance, including P&L or margin accountability and capacity planning.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing multi-million dollar operating budgets, including revenue forecasting and recognized revenue oversight.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Development or Sales teams to drive new business, renewals, and account expansion.
- Track record managing enterprise-level corporate accounts with multi-stakeholder scope.
- Proven success building, coaching, and scaling high-performing teams.
- Experience serving as senior escalation lead for complex client environments.
- Able to occasionally travel overnight (estimated 10-15%).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Salesforce, Asana, and data analytics/visualization tools are a plus.
