Partnership Development Volunteer

Opportunity duration: 9-12 months
Hours: Min 10 hours per week up to full-time to be worked flexibly, but ideally with overlap with CET time zone

Location: Home-based

Reporting to: Grants and Partnerships Coordinator
Remuneration: Volunteer (unpaid)

About CLEAR Global

CLEAR Global is a non-profit organisation that exists to help people get vital information and be heard, whatever language they speak. We work mostly on behalf of nonprofit partners providing language services, language research, and developing language technology for a linguistically inclusive world. To do this we have a global community of over 200,000 linguists who offer their time, energy and skills to address language inequality. This community translates millions of words of life-saving and life-changing information a year, supports vulnerable people with interpretation services, and engages in digital language development and advocacy. 

Background to the Role

We seek to build real partnerships with organizations that understand the importance of good communication in the right language and format. Our partnership program has been developed to provide NGOs and UN agencies with access to the Translators without Borders (TWB) Platform and the TWB Community of over 200,000 linguists via a comprehensive range of language services. 

Increasingly we provide language services for projects, for digitally focused development work, and as contributors to consortia of development partners. 

CLEAR Global is offering a volunteer opportunity to work as part of a small and dynamic partnership development and fundraising team. The candidate will gain valuable experience in a thriving international non-profit organization, learning about everything from not-for-profit humanitarian and development sectors, to business development and income tracking techniques.

The Role

The Partnership Development Volunteer will support the Partnership Sales team to carry out tasks related to CLEAR Global’s partnership sales and customer success programs. The role also includes supporting the officers with day-to-day administrative tasks. A big part of the role will entail using CRM (constituent relationship management) database tools, written communications, and web-based research to support CLEAR Global’s partnership goals.

The role will suit someone who would like to grow into a career in fundraising and partnership sales in the non-profit sector. Responsibilities

Fundraising

• Research new prospective partners which might benefit from our support
• Support the fundraising team in responding to enquiries from potential and existing partners and developing proposals that meet their needs
• Contribute to cross-team project design to meet partner needs

Administration support: 

• Regular data entry into Hubspot
• Support with keeping partners’ outreach records up to date (entering/updating data)
• Monitor partnership requests coming in from different channels
• Support Partner onboarding process - drafting agreements, creating invoices, and sending out outreach communications.
• Support with creating reports for partners

What we are looking for in candidates

Skills, experience or qualifications

The right candidate is an energetic team player who agrees with CLEAR Global’s basic beliefs and values and who can work virtually with team members based throughout the world.  

Requirements 

• Degree level education
• Excellent command of English, both oral and written. Knowledge of or interest in other languages is an advantage;
• Previous experience working with non-profit organizations and particularly in the fundraising arena would be a real advantage;
• Familiarity with data entry tools, CRM and cloud computing platforms would be a plus.
• Experience carrying out desktop research, using a range of methods and sources of data
• Must have access to a stable internet connection and a computer.
