Atlantic Coast Mortgage is looking for an Appraisal Desk Specialist to join our compliance team. This position will be responsible for coordinating appraisal orders and communicating with appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies (“AMCs”), and loan teams throughout the appraisal process. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized team player with strong customer service and communication skills. This role requires the ability to work with a sense of urgency, communicate timely and efficiently, and effectively manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The position requires full-time work.

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize the loan origination system and vendor systems for appraisal order assignments
• Address basic appraiser queries and identify issues as needed
• Communicate proactively and efficiently with appraisers and AMCs to ensure inspection appointments, appraisal completions, and revisions meet required deadlines
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with appraisers and AMCs by providing responsive, professional, and customer-focused service
• Request and monitor quotes on complex appraisal assignments
• Respond to loan team requests in a timely manner and help keep the appraisal process moving forward
• Review appraisal reports to ensure accurate fulfillment
• Comply with general industry and Agency appraisal and valuation requirements
• Collaborate effectively with the Compliance team and other departments to support a smooth and efficient loan process

Qualifications

• Previous Appraisal Coordinator or Appraisal Desk experience from a mortgage lender or AMC environment

• Knowledge of mortgage lending processes and terms
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with appraisers, AMCs, loan teams, and internal partners
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and efficiently with employees and external business partners at all levels

• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Strong team player who collaborates effectively with others and contributes to a positive team environment

• Experience with Encompass or other mortgage loan origination systems is preferred

This range has not been adjusted for geographic pay differentials and may not reflect the final rate offered if the position is filled in a location other than where it was posted. Compensation within this range is determined by a combination of factors, including experience, skill, and organizational needs. The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 annually.
