Job Summary

This role serves as the primary liaison between the policyholder and The Standard, supporting employers and employees with group life, disability, and leave-related inquiries. You will independently manage claim processes, coordinate death claims, and assist employees with filing claims, while ensuring accurate premium administration and contract interpretation. The role partners closely with HR and Benefits teams to resolve customer service, claims, and coverage issues, including escalations. You’ll also provide reporting on claim activity, support Evidence of Insurability tracking, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the customer experience and support business retention.

*The ability to work on eastern time zone hours, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, is a requirement for this role.

  • Provide reporting on claims status, outstanding items, and Evidence of Insurability

Skills and Background You’ll Need

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: 3+ years of experience in leave management, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and life insurance (employer, broker, or carrier)

  • Experience managing claims processes and resolving complex customer inquiries

  • Experience in Oracle or other Benefits Administration programs

  • Strong knowledge of benefit contract interpretation and premium administration

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and business units

  • Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on empathy and customer service

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience coordinating projects and cross-functional work

  • Experience supporting group life, disability, and leave programs in a corporate or insurance environment

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$66,000.00 - $96,250.00
