About the Job

The Training and Development Specialist for the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program holds a crucial role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs. These programs aim to ensure all staff possess the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively deliver ECM services. This individual will contribute to workforce development by managing onboarding processes, compliance training, continuing education, and quality enhancement initiatives, all of which are aligned with California’s Medi-Cal transformation goals under CalAIM.

At this time we are only considering applicants in the following states: California, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

What you'll do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs for the ECM Quality and Training Department.

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions on ECM core competencies, program standards, documentation requirements, and cultural sensitivity.

  • Conduct onboarding for new ECM team members and facilitate ongoing training for existing staff, adhering to CalAIM and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) guidelines.

  • Assess and evaluate the efficacy of training programs through assessments, feedback mechanisms, and performance metrics.

  • Participate in internal and external audits, assisting with performance improvement plans as required.

  • Liaise with internal leadership and external stakeholders, such as community-based organizations and health plans, to identify training needs and ensure alignment with ECM objectives and Medi-Cal regulations.

  • Maintain meticulous training records and ensure staff fulfill continuing education and compliance obligations.

  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of training materials, job aids, and guidance documents.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives by integrating lessons learned and best practices into training protocols.

  • Ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment with the Quality/ Education and ECM operation leaders.

  • Participate in and own various training projects in collaboration with Director Training and Quality.

  • Remain abreast of CalAIM policy modifications, ECM provider mandates, and workforce development trends.

Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in Health Care Administration preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in adult education, staff training and development, preferably within a healthcare, behavioral health, or social services environment.

  • Willing and able to work Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm Pacific Time, with possibility for potential evenings and weekends.

  • Experience working with Medi-Cal populations, ECM, or CalAIM programs is highly desirable.

  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and communication proficiencies.

  • Capacity to analyze training requirements and formulate responsive curricula.

  • Proficiency in utilizing learning management systems (LMS), Google Suite, and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic setting.

  • Cultural competence and the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish, a plus.

  • Familiarity with the CalAIM initiative, Enhanced Care Management, and community-based care models.

  • Experience with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, or other relevant therapeutic approaches.

    • Regularly requires use of laptop and video-conferencing technology.

    • Occasionally requires reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting items weighing 25 pounds or less.

    • Occasional travel may be required to perform job duties, attend training, or company events.
