Job description

About Fay

At Fay, our mission is to make nutrition a foundational pillar of preventative care, improving outcomes, accessibility, and affordability at scale. We're building AI-powered infrastructure to transform preventative healthcare. Think that's bold? We're just getting started.

Today, Fay is a three-sided marketplace connecting providers, patients, and payers to revolutionize preventative care delivery. Our b2b2c business-in-a-box solution empowers dietitians to deliver high-quality, affordable nutrition care, helps patients take control of their health, and enables payers to build healthier member populations. Nutrition is our starting point, not the finish line. The platform we're building will expand into new areas of preventative health and wellness as we grow.

We're proud to be one of the fastest-growing companies in healthtech, backed by category-defining investors like General Catalyst, Forerunner, 1984, and Goldman Sachs.

Ready to leverage AI-driven technology to transform preventative care and make a real-world impact on health? Let's talk.

About This Role

We're looking for a Credentialing Manager to join our credentialing team and help keep our dietitian network's enrollment pipeline moving. This is a hands-on, manager role focused on leading contractors and vendors, executing credentialing and enrollment work accurately and efficiently across a portfolio of payers.

This engagement starts as a contract role, with strong potential to convert to full-time based on performance and business need. It's a great fit for someone who wants to prove themselves quickly, take ownership of real workflows from day one, and grow into a larger role as the credentialing function scales.

You'll report to the Head of Provider Operations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Execute provider enrollment and credentialing applications across a defined set of payers — CAQH ProView, primary source verification, payer portal submissions, and follow-up.
  • Track application status and turnaround times, flagging delays or missing documentation before they become bottlenecks.
  • Maintain clean, accurate tracking in spreadsheets/dashboards — status logs, SLA trackers, denial/resubmission tracking — and keep data current and error-free.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they come up — missing NPI data, license discrepancies, payer portal quirks, rejected applications — and drive them to resolution rather than just flagging them.
  • Use AI tools to speed up repetitive or research-heavy work (e.g., drafting follow-up communications, summarizing payer requirements, organizing data) where it makes sense.
  • Partner with the credentialing and RCM teams to make sure enrollment status is understood downstream and doesn't hold up billing or provider go-live.

Your Skills & Experience

Required

  • Hands-on experience with provider credentialing and enrollment — you've actually done the work: CAQH, payer portals, license verification, application submission and tracking.
  • Solid Excel/spreadsheet skills — comfortable with formulas, filtering, pivot tables, and keeping large trackers clean and accurate. You don't need to be an analyst, but you should be comfortable with data.
  • An owner's mindset — you don't wait to be told what to do. You spot problems, dig into why something broke, and drive it to resolution on your own. That includes drafting or improving SOPs as you go, troubleshooting issues directly, and picking up the phone to call a payer when that's the fastest way to unblock something. Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where process is still being built.
  • Strong attention to detail — credentialing errors are costly, so accuracy and thoroughness matter.

Preferred

  • Experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to speed up day-to-day work — but a strong interest in learning to use them well is also welcome if you don't have direct experience yet.
  • Experience credentialing telehealth providers — particularly dietitians, therapists, or other non-physician specialties.
  • Familiarity with major commercial and government payer portals (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, UHC, Humana, Medicare/Medicaid).
  • Background at a high-growth startup or digital health company.
Compensation Range$60,000—$120,000 USD
