Job Description:

The Opportunity

As a Warehouse Technician, you will support field service operations by ensuring tools, equipment, materials, consumables, and job-specific requirements are organized, maintained, prepared, and available when needed. This hands-on role combines warehouse activities with field support, working closely with field technicians, project managers, and service management. You will receive, inspect, organize, stage, ship, and track materials and equipment while supporting efficient movement between the warehouse, field locations, vehicles, and customer job sites. The role includes preparing job kits, assisting with equipment readiness, coordinating equipment returns, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting repairs, calibration, and maintenance activities. You will help address equipment availability, material flow, inventory discrepancies, damaged equipment, and job readiness needs before field crews are deployed. By helping ensure technicians have the correct tools, equipment, materials, and consumables for each assignment, you contribute to reliable field service execution and the effective operation of equipment supporting power infrastructure.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Receive, inspect, identify, and organize incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for tools, equipment, parts, consumables, and service materials.
  • Prepare, stage, pick, pack, label, and ship materials and equipment for field service activities.
  • Process returned equipment, inspect it for damage or maintenance needs, and coordinate follow-up actions as required.
  • Build job kits and prepare tools, materials, drawings, and consumables for upcoming work scopes.
  • Perform basic inspections, preventative maintenance, cleaning, testing, and organization of tools and equipment.
  • Track equipment movements and assist with inventory counts, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, storage areas, and equipment yards.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Previous warehouse, industrial, maintenance, construction, or field service experience is an asset.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience is an asset.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and basic power tools.
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn inventory or warehouse management systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
