Territory Managers with Dairy Tech are responsible for the maintenance and expansion of their assigned territory for our products and services. Responsibilities include identifying new customers; and achieving annual sales, revenue, and gross profit goals within the specified territory. Additionally, the Territory Manager assists customers in improving production and profitability in their dairy operations and leverages their deep animal health industry expertise to increase market share through the sale and use of proprietary technologies and products.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct targeted prospect calls to develop new and existing business growth; actively call on customers. Primary focus on dairy producers
  • Actively work with area distribution channels in supporting the development and execution of sales growth strategies and tactics that incorporate Perfect Udder Colostrum Management and other programs
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and requirements to proactively recommend specific products and solutions
  • Provide impeccable support including but not limited to: responding to customer queries, answering questions from internal and external partners, and solving problems in a timely fashion
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction, leverage this knowledge to grow territory
  • Ensure price and terms of contract are in accordance with standard procedures and customer profitability profiles
  • Provide tracking reports on marketing and service activities as needed and maintain up-to-date and accurate client history records
  • Meet and ideally exceed forecasted sales goals
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the industry, consumer preferences, company products, programs, market conditions, and competition
  • Ensure accuracy in customer orders and territory records, document all customer interactions and potential sales opportunities, and maintain accurate financial documentation
  • Maintain acceptable driving record
  • Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Animal Science or Ag related field or equivalent education and/or experience


Preferred Requirements

  • 3 years with a Dairy emphasis, proven track record of growing and maintaining a customer base of dairy herds and
  • Experience as a Dairy herd manager or related position and
  • Proven ability to cold call, build relationships, and lead in a matrixed team environment and
  • Proficiency in SAP or related ERP and


Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of dairy husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines
  • Basic command of animal nutritional and management recommendations
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to analyze financial information
  • Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • General computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office


Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Drivers License Required

Environmental Conditions

  • Office: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building's primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers, and other office equipment and devices for professional services.
  • Facility: This position is in a fulfillment center. The fulfillment center is a warehouse for the storage and distribution of dental and/or animal health supplies and equipment. In general, the building’s primary work area consists of pallet storage racking, roller storage, and small item storage shelving. The facility may use powered conveyor systems for the transportation of products. Pallet jacks and forklifts are used for palletized products. Some positions require use of safety equipment, which is provided as needed.
  • Primary Traveling: This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.
  • Remote: This position primarily completes work from a remote setting, most commonly, a home office. This may be referenced as flexible workplace.


Travel Requirements

  • 50% throughout assigned territory, and elsewhere as business needs require

Compensation:

This position is paid on a commission basis.
