We’re hiring an Accounts Executive at Just Slots Group to support the Head of Finance with the day-to-day running of finance across multiple entities.

As the first hire into the finance team, you’ll focus on keeping our accounting records complete, accurate, and up to date. This is a primarily transactional role covering bookkeeping, reconciliations, credit control, payments, and finance administration. Month-end reporting, tax, and compliance remain the responsibility of the Head of Finance, with you preparing the supporting schedules, data, and records.

After structured onboarding, you’ll work with a weekly check-in, agreed KPIs, and ad hoc tasks. You’ll have a high degree of autonomy, a direct working relationship with the Head of Finance, and scope to take on more as the team and group grow.

Hours: 20–25 per week, agreed with you and scheduled between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday
Location: Fully remote; candidates must be resident in Malta
Salary: €16,000–€18,000 gross per annum, depending on hours and experience
Contract: Part-time, permanent

What You’ll Do

Bookkeeping

• Post supplier and contractor bills to the correct entity, with accurate coding and dates.

• Post card transactions and follow up with cardholders on outstanding receipts.

• Raise recurring customer and intra-group invoices.

• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve supplier queries.

• Process employee expense claims.

Reconciliations

• Reconcile bank and payment platform accounts weekly across all entities.

• Maintain the reconciliation status sheet.

• Escalate unmatched transactions and unusual items.

Credit Control

• Issue customer statements and payment reminders.

• Allocate receipts to invoices, including part payments.

• Maintain the aged receivables report.

Payments

• Prepare monthly contractor and supplier payment runs for approval.

Month-End and Compliance Support

• Prepare month-end schedules, including prepayments and accruals.

• Prepare data for VAT returns.

Records and Administration

• Maintain finance trackers covering reconciliations, subscriptions, and contractors.

• File invoices, statements, and receipts in the shared drive.

• Keep supplier and contractor records in Xero up to date.

• Maintain the fixed asset register.

• Compile documents requested by auditors and advisors.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role.

• Part-qualified ACCA, AAT, or equivalent.

• Working knowledge of Xero, including bills, invoicing, and bank reconciliation.

• Confidence using Excel and maintaining well-organised files.

• Experience with reconciliations, accounting postings, and credit control.

• Strong written English for correspondence with suppliers, operators, and advisors.

• An organised, responsible approach, a willingness to learn, and the initiative to get things done.

• Clear, timely communication about deadlines and open questions.

• Openness to using AI tools daily and helping improve and automate processes.

Bonus Points

• Experience working across more than one entity.

• Experience in the iGaming or technology sector.

• Familiarity with payment platforms or electronic money institutions (EMIs).
