Technical Project Manager

Role: Technical Project Manager, Acquired Company Application Migration

Location: Remote, USA

Pay Rate: $45/hr

Job Summary:

Lead application migration efforts from acquired companies into enterprise-standard platforms and services, reducing

technical debt while maintaining business continuity. The role will coordinate application, infrastructure, identity,

security, data, licensing, vendor, and business stakeholders across discovery, disposition, migration, integration, and

retirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage the application migration roadmap, inventory, disposition decisions, migration waves, dependencies, risks,

and closure criteria.

• Coordinate acquired-company teams with enterprise application, infrastructure, cloud, data, identity, security, compliance,

procurement, and support teams.

• Drive discovery, dependency mapping, target-state decisions, migration planning, testing, data transfer, cutover, validation,

hyper care, and legacy retirement.

• Establish governance for application rationalization, technical-debt tracking, exceptions, security remediation, licensing, and

ownership.

• Maintain Jira plans, RAID logs, decision registers, action trackers, migration dashboards, and executive reporting.

• Ensure user communication, training, support readiness, knowledge transfer, documentation, and business continuity.

• Facilitate decisions where timelines, architecture standards, security requirements, or acquired-company constraints

conflict.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of technical project management experience in application migration, M&A integration, platform consolidation, or

technical-debt reduction.

• Proven experience coordinating complex migration activities involving applications, data, identity, infrastructure, security,

and business processes.

• Understanding of application inventory, dependency mapping, disposition, target-state planning, testing, cutover, rollback,

and decommissioning.

• Ability to work effectively with acquired-company leaders, enterprise teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

• Strong Jira, governance, schedule, RAID, executive reporting, documentation, and change-management skills.

• Excellent communication and ability to create alignment across teams with different processes and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, application rationalization, SaaS consolidation, or tenant/domain migrations.

• Exposure to identity consolidation, data migration, licensing, vendor transition, or security remediation.

• PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification.

• Experience delivering multiple application migrations in parallel.
