MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a ServiceNow Developer Sr Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

  • Serve as Technical Lead for a team of ServiceNow Developers, providing hands-on technical direction and leadership across platform initiatives.
  • Design and implement custom Agentic AI workflows, AI Agents, and Now Assist Skills to enhance conversational functionality within the Now Assist Panel.
  • Develop intelligent AI-driven Service Desk solutions leveraging Agentic AI and Now Assist across Voice and Email support channels.
  • Assess customer business needs and lead the delivery of platform-wide ServiceNow enhancements that modernize and automate Change Management processes while enabling external system integrations.
  • Plan, lead, and execute the implementation and deployment of Service Operations Workspace to deliver a modern front-end experience for ITSM activities.
  • Develop custom ServiceNow applications supporting program-level, customer-critical communications tracking.
  • Lead and participate in high-level ServiceNow solution demonstrations for internal stakeholders and prospective customers.
  • Design, develop, and maintain REST-based integrations with enterprise systems, including Oracle IDM, Oracle Databases, and GovDelivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB capabilities, including data modeling, discovery, service mapping, and governance to ensure accurate and reliable configuration data across the enterprise.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The ServiceNow Developer Sr Principal must have:
 

● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
 

● Experience: 8+ years of related experience
 

● Required Skills:

  • Deep, proven expertise in developing and customizing ServiceNow applications, modules, and AI solutions/workflows
  • Expert proficiency with integration methods like SOAP, REST, and web services, including integrations with enterprise systems like Oracle IDM, Oracle Databases, and/or GovDelivery
  • Expert proficiency with ServiceNow's ITOM and CMDB modules and capabilities, including data modeling, discovery, service mapping, and/or governance
  • Excellent scripting skill with at least one language – preferably JavaScript
  • Experience serving as a technical lead for a development team with the ability to provide hands-on technical direction and leadership
  • Understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test to integration to production deployment
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Organizational and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
  • Good communication skills for managing customer interactions and negotiating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective technical solutions
  • Ability to identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams
  • Ability to communicate as a high-level technical authority, contribute to whitepapers, BOEs, and design docs, and lead high-stakes demos to customers
  • Ability to drive methodology changes, manage customer deliverables, identify and resolve process issues, and shape standards across-the-board
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, mentor junior team members, support staff development, lead knowledge shares, and lead new innovation projects and tech pilots
  • Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
