How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Inside Sales Partner, you will partner with academic libraries, universities, research institutions, healthcare organizations, and government agencies to help them maximize the value of Sage and Mary Ann Liebert content. In this consultative sales role, you will manage an established portfolio of customers, driving subscription renewals, collection upgrades, and archival content sales while building trusted relationships with library decision-makers.

This is a fully remote position with limited travel for sales meetings and team events (typically 1-2 times per year).

This role is focuses on consultative library sales, working closely with academic, research, healthcare, and government institutions to strengthen customer partnerships, grow portfolio revenue, and ensure libraries maximize the value of our content.

  • Stay informed on trends impacting academic libraries, scholarly publishing, and research institutions.

  • Develop territory plans that prioritize high-impact sales opportunities and customer engagement activities.

  • Build credibility with customers through relationships, product expertise, responsiveness, and a consultative approach.

This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys account growth, customer engagement, and working in a market that supports education, research, and knowledge sharing worldwide.

  • 3+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, customer success, or business development.

  • Proven ability to build relationships, uncover customer needs, and achieve sales goals through a consultative approach.

  • Experience selling subscription-based products, digital content, journals, databases, information services, or related solutions is highly valued.

  • Experience working with academic libraries, higher education, scholarly publishing, or research-focused organizations is a strong plus.

  • Proficiency using CRM systems to manage customer relationships, opportunities, and forecasting.

  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a large portfolio of customer accounts in a remote environment.

  • Familiarity with journal renewals, Open Access publishing, and academic library purchasing is preferred.
