Job description

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager (Tokenization) to act as Payforge's subject matter expert on network tokenization, digital wallets, and modern payment authentication. You will advise issuers, processors, and fintech clients on tokenization capabilities, transaction flows, operational controls, and digital credential adoption — assessing where they are today, identifying where performance and risk can be improved, and supporting them through implementation and production readiness. The role spans business and technical audiences, and requires equal comfort in a fraud operations review and an authorization flow walkthrough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead advisor on client tokenization initiatives, covering network token services (Visa VTS, Mastercard MDES and equivalents), token lifecycle management, and card-on-file tokenization.
  • Assess clients' tokenization operating models, configuration options, controls, and implementation approaches, and identify opportunities to improve adoption, performance, and customer experience.
  • Review end-to-end tokenized transaction flows across provisioning, authorization, clearing, and settlement, including issuer authorization processing and token-related transaction data.
  • Advise on digital wallet enablement — Apple Pay, Google Pay, Click to Pay — covering enrolment, provisioning, authentication, issuer controls, and checkout journeys.
  • Advise on modern authentication approaches: passkey-based and FIDO-aligned schemes, delegated authentication models, and passwordless payment experiences.
  • Assess token lifecycle operations — provisioning, activation, suspension, resumption, and deletion — and the operational support models behind them.
  • Evaluate tokenization-related fraud scenarios, monitoring frameworks, operational controls, and incident management practices, and recommend mitigations for identified gaps.
  • Support testing, validation, implementation readiness, and production support activities for tokenization and digital credential solutions.
  • Advise clients on emerging digital commerce models — embedded payments, agentic commerce, and intelligent checkout — and their tokenization and authentication implications.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions across business, operations, fraud, technology, and digital banking stakeholders, and present findings to both executive and technical audiences.
  • Produce assessments, recommendations, implementation guidance, and briefing materials, and contribute to Payforge's internal knowledge base and best practice.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 8+ years in payments, cards, issuer processing, digital banking, or payments consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting tokenization, digital wallet, digital credential, or card payment initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in network tokenization ecosystems, including token requestor frameworks, token domains, token assurance levels, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or implementing Apple Pay and Google Pay for issuers.
  • Strong understanding of issuer authorization systems, card processing, and end-to-end payment transaction flows.
  • Working knowledge of card-on-file tokenization, e-commerce and contactless payments, Click to Pay, and Secure Remote Commerce (SRC).
  • Knowledge of modern authentication frameworks — passkeys, FIDO-based authentication, delegated authentication, and passwordless payment experiences.
  • Experience assessing operational controls, risk management practices, monitoring frameworks, and fraud prevention measures for tokenized payments.
  • Experience conducting solution assessments, operational reviews, implementation readiness reviews, and payment processing analysis.
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with business, operations, fraud, technology, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and presentation skills.

What we value?

  • Technical excellence – delivering high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Problem-solving mindset – approaching challenges with creativity and precision.
  • Collaboration & communication – working effectively with cross-functional, remote-first teams.
  • Leadership & mentorship – guiding peers, sharing knowledge, and championing best practices.
  • Adaptability – being comfortable stepping into back-end work when business needs arise.
