About Praying Pelican Missions (PPM)

Praying Pelican Missions exists to build up, encourage, and assist the local Church in reaching and serving their communities for Christ. As an interdenominational ministry, we seek to celebrate the variety of the Church while leveraging what binds us together as followers of Jesus Christ. Our work is built on three distinctive objectives:

  • Genuine Partnerships: We believe in the local Church as our mission base, partnering each team with local ministries to encourage and assist them in serving their communities.
  • Long-Term Relationships: We are wholly invested in the communities we serve, providing teams the opportunity to build lasting relationships with local churches and ministries.
  • Sustainable Ministry: We remain under the authority and direction of the local Church to ensure each mission trip has a lasting impact through a fully customized approach.

The Opportunity

The Ministry Coordinator will pursue excellence in representing PPM to local churches and non-profits, group leaders and trip participants to see the united global Church reach its fullest potential for the glory of God. This role focuses on the high-level coordination of mission trips, including recruiting & consulting teams, and leading trips, as well as the management of the Church Sponsorship Program, ensuring that partner churches and pastors are supported year-round.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trip Coordination & Logistics: Prepare mission trip itineraries, coordinate logistics with local leadership, and handle all trip details to ensure goals are met.
  • On-Site Trip Leadership: Lead mission teams on-site, ensuring safety and security protocols are followed and coordinating activities with local partners for spiritual impact. Maintain expense reports and train leadership team members. This position requires leading 10-14 mission trips per year.
  • Recruiting & Renewals: Assist in trip preparation by contacting group leaders regularly and meeting assigned team recruitment & renewal goals.
  • Church Sponsorship & Partner Care: Maintain consistent communication with assigned partners, fulfilling program promises, and advocating for partner needs and emergency support.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Teach and spread the Christian faith by leading devotionals and partnering with the local church to advance the Gospel.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience; 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proven organizational skills, strong relational skills, strong technology skills, and strong financial management.
  • Communication: Fluent spoken and written English required; conversational skill in the primary in-location language is strongly recommended.
  • Travel: Ability to lead mission teams on-site, traveling up to 30% of the time, with a valid driver’s license.

Compensation: Starting at $1,400/month; commiserate with experience
