Senior Java Engineer – High-Load & Real-Time Systems

We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join a project for a leading US streaming technology company transforming how people watch television.

You will contribute to a highly scalable, highly available, real-time advertising platform that supports a rapidly growing streaming business. Working with an experienced international engineering team, you will design and develop high-performance backend applications operating at scale.

This role is an excellent match for an engineer who has a strong command of Java, understands concurrency beyond the framework level, and enjoys solving complex performance and scalability challenges.

This is you

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Java backend development

• Hands-on experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems

• Strong command of Java 11 or newer

• Solid practical knowledge of Java Concurrency and multithreading

• Experience with asynchronous programming in Java, including CompletableFuture

• Good understanding of algorithms, data structures and performance optimization

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles

• Basic understanding of high-load system design and scalability techniques

• Basic practical knowledge of Kafka

• English at B2 level or higher, enabling effective communication in an international team

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with distributed caching

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms

• Experience with Big Data technologies

• Previous experience in adtech, streaming, media, fintech or another high-throughput domain

This is your role

• Design, develop and maintain large-scale, highly available, real-time Java applications

• Build efficient concurrent and asynchronous processing solutions

• Investigate and resolve performance, scalability and reliability challenges

• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested production code

• Contribute to technical decisions, engineering standards and development best practices

• Collaborate with engineers, product specialists and analytics teams on strategic initiatives

• Identify technical gaps and operational problems and propose robust solutions

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Take ownership of delivered solutions throughout the development lifecycle
