Kindly note that this role is not guaranteed full time work.

  • We will be able to offer contract opportunities for multiple clients over a particular period of time (short-term and long-term). Based on suitability, we intend to take you through our recruitment process and onboard you into our 'talent pool', so that when the right opportunity arises in the next few weeks / months, we are able to engage and onboard you quite quickly.

Objectives of this role

The Graphic Designer is the visual craft specialist at Curio. You produce high-quality static design across a broad range of formats - from brand collateral and illustration to infographics, photography, and presentation design - for both client projects and internal Curio use.

You are methodical and brand-disciplined, able to move between multiple projects and formats without losing quality or consistency. You take pride in output that is visually precise, on-brand, and produced efficiently.

Key responsibilities and duties

Brand and collateral design
  • Produce design assets for client projects and Curio brand collateral, including guides, reports, editable forms, brochures, flyers, posters, invitations, and social media tiles.

  • Ensure all internally produced creative content adheres to the Curio brand criteria and style guide.

  • Ensure all externally produced content meets client expectations and brand guidelines.

  • Build and maintain brand templates for company-wide use across Microsoft Office and other tools.

Illustration and visual storytelling
  • Create original illustrations for client and internal projects, including custom iconography, characters, and scene-based graphics.

  • Design infographics and data visualisations that communicate complex information clearly and compellingly.

  • Develop visual assets to support eLearning course design, including illustrated icons, characters, and supporting graphics.

Photography
  • Assist with product and content photography for promotional, digital, and social media use.

  • Select, edit, and prepare photographic assets for use across print and digital channels.

Presentation and document design
  • Design and produce presentation templates and slide decks for client and internal use.

  • Create interactive PDFs and formatted documents for client deliverables and internal reports.

  • Prepare files for production, ensuring print and digital outputs are correctly set up.

Digital and web assets
  • Assist in creating and rolling out web updates for home and landing pages, including category banners and page assets.

  • Maintain website assets and other digital mediums as required.

  • Assist in maintaining Curio social media platforms from a design and editing perspective.

Administration
  • Maintain accurate and organised artwork files on the company shared drive.

  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into design revisions accurately and efficiently.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure all creative output meets brand guidelines and deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

Required
  • Diploma or degree in graphic design or a related discipline, with 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

  • Advanced skills in creating Microsoft Word and PowerPoint business templates.

  • Solid understanding of design principles: typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.

  • Demonstrated illustration skills — able to create original icons, characters, and scene-based artwork.

  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to brand guidelines across a diverse range of collateral and channels.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design decisions clearly.

  • Capacity to work across a range of brands and adapt visual style appropriately.

Desired
  • Proficient in Figma or Canva for collaborative and web-based design work.

  • Experience with infographic and data visualisation design.

  • Experience in higher education, professional learning, or professional services contexts.

  • Comfort integrating AI tools into graphic design workflows.

What success looks like

  • Design assets are delivered on time, on-brand, and require minimal rework after review.

  • Illustrations and infographics communicate clearly and are visually consistent with the broader project.

  • Stakeholder feedback is absorbed and reflected in revisions accurately and without friction.

  • The Curio brand — and client brands — are applied consistently and confidently across every piece of work.

  • You are known as a reliable, high-quality contributor who makes projects look great and runs smoothly.

Work Health and Safety Responsibilities
