Job description

Senior Brand and Communications Manager

About Valant

Valant is the EHR and practice management platform built exclusively for behavioral health. Roughly 3,000 practices run their clinical, billing and operational work on our system. Our purpose is to make the world a mentally healthier place, and everything we build serves that.

We are the only platform built for the full depth of behavioral health, on one system. That claim is the thing this role has to make true in the market's mind.

About the role

Valant has a brand position, three brand promises, and a competitive framework. What it does not have is a single owner making them show up consistently in how we sound, what gets published, who says it, and where we appear when a buyer looks for a behavioral health EHR. That is this job. You own how Valant sounds and where Valant shows up.

What You’ll Own

Brand voice. Own it. Define how Valant sounds to clinicians, practice owners, and executives at multi-site groups, then make the standard usable: examples, before/afters, and a review path people actually follow. You are the final call on interpretation across every channel, including content produced by other teams. Success is other people writing on-voice without you in the room.

Organic social. LinkedIn is the primary channel and opportunity. Own the channels, the calendar, the writing, and executive presence for our CEO and leadership team. In your first 30 days, bring us a recommendation on whether to build, park or close Instagram and Facebook.

Influencer and creator partnerships. Identify, contract and run partnerships with the clinicians, educators and community operators our buyers already listen to. Run them through a defined approval and measurement process, including tracking that works before anything goes live.

Sponsorships. Own media and audience sponsorships: podcasts, newsletters, communities, associations. You source the partner, negotiate the terms, own the activation calendar, and land the follow-through. Every sponsorship carries a renewal decision backed by evidence, held to the same efficiency bar we apply to paid lead sources.

Co-marketing and partners. Co-authored content, audience swaps, joint sessions and reciprocal placements with associations and complementary vendors. Growth Marketing will execute necessary webinars, campaigns and landing pages with your direction.

PR — placement and relationships. Own the relationships and the placements: editors, analysts, awards programs, review sites, and the people who compile category roundups. The priority is inclusion in the rankings and roundups buyers rely on when they shortlist a behavioral health EHR. You pitch, place and own the relationship; Content Marketing writes the bylines and long-form against your brief, booked into the editorial calendar in advance..

Design contractors and visual identity. Own how Valant looks: identity standards, template systems, and approval on brand-critical assets. Own, brief and quality-control the design contractor roster.

What You'll Be Measured On

  • Named rankings, awards, roundup and review-site inclusions secured per year

  • Total reach from placements with a minimum-authority threshold per outlet

  • LinkedIn engagement and qualified audience growth

  • Sponsorship, partner and influencer output, with tracking in place before launch and reported results after

Not In This Role

While you will contribute in the following projects, you won’t own the work:

  • SEO, GEO, AEO and organic search strategy, measurement and reporting (Content Marketing). You supply earned citations, but you don't own the channel or its reporting.

  • Editorial calendar, blog and long-form production, thought leadership writing, content hubs, content syndication, and content contractors (Content Marketing). You brief and place; they write.

  • Webinars, events, tradeshows, event sponsorships and Marketo campaign management (Marketing & Events)

  • Product positioning, launch messaging, win/loss, archetype GTM and sales enablement (Product Marketing)

What You’ll Need

Required

  • 6+ years in B2B brand, communications or PR

  • A track record of getting a company into rankings, awards, analyst lists and category roundups — tell us which ones and what you did

  • You can pitch. You'll bring relationships, you know how to build them in a category you don't know yet, and you know what an editor actually wants.

  • You write: the voice standard, social copy, executive presence, and briefs good enough that someone else can write long-form from them. We will test this.

  • You've run creators, influencers, sponsors or partners under contract — scoping, negotiating, approvals, tracking, and telling a partner their work missed

  • Healthcare, behavioral health, fintech or another regulated category is a plus. The instinct for how claims get checked matters more than the sector.

Nice to Have

  • A clinician or practitioner audience; visual identity and design contractor management; agency-side experience.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package, including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision premiums and HSA contributions

  • Generous paid time off and paid sick leave policy

  • Bonus plans

  • 401k Match

  • The chance to drive an important industry forward through next-generation technology

  • Ability to work remotely with a strong internet connection

  • Salary Range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000

US Citizens and Green Card holders are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

At Valant, we believe diverse perspectives make us stronger and help us better serve the behavioral health community.
