Job description

Job Requisition ID: 94803

Location Designation: Hybrid - 1 day per week

  Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, insights-oriented analytics professional to support how Purchase Experience (PX) performance against its Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) is measured, analyzed, and communicated. This role owns meaningful analyses, dashboards, and recurring reporting deliverables within the broader PX performance measurement function, with a strong emphasis on identifying trends and anomalies, investigating underlying drivers, and translating findings into clear business insights.

The individual in this position will operate as a hands-on individual contributor, working independently on defined analytical responsibilities and partnering with business stakeholders to translate questions into metrics, analysis, dashboards, and reporting. The role requires analytical curiosity and follow-through: noticing unexpected results, investigating what is driving them, and developing a fact-based story that explains what is happening and what it may mean for the business.

The successful candidate will balance technical depth with business acumen, contributing to a consistent, accurate, and actionable view of PX performance. This is an insights and reporting role; SQL, Tableau, and data preparation are tools for producing reliable analysis rather than standalone data engineering responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

OKR & Performance Analysis

  • Support PX OKRs and core operational performance metrics through analysis, reporting, metric development, and ongoing monitoring
  • Translate business objectives and questions into measurable metrics and analytical approaches, partnering with business leads on definitions, thresholds, assumptions, and appropriate use
  • Provide structured updates on PX performance, incorporating relevant business and initiative context into reporting where appropriate
  • Maintain metric integrity and consistency across reporting cycles, including documentation of logic, assumptions, and changes
  • Conduct analysis that explains changes in PX performance, connecting trends and anomalies to underlying operational drivers and business context
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, anomalies and emerging performance issues across PX processes and capabilities, and investigate underlying drivers and implications

Executive & Leadership Reporting

  • Develop recurring monthly PX performance materials for senior leadership forums, ensuring accurate, clear, and timely reporting
  • Identify and synthesize insights focused on trends, drivers, trade-offs, and implications, turning reporting results into a clear business story and presenting findings in leadership or stakeholder forums when appropriate
  • Support responses to leadership questions by explaining performance movement, assumptions, and data limitations within assigned analyses and reporting
  • Anticipate potential areas of concern and prepare supporting analysis as needed

Business Insights & Partnership

  • Partner closely with Underwriting, Operations, and Product stakeholders to understand business questions, incorporate operational context, and ensure analysis reflects business reality
  • Work with stakeholders to interpret performance data, investigate unusual results, test hypotheses, and develop or refine metrics consistent with established measurement approaches
  • Provide structured, data-driven recommendations when performance deviates from expectations
  • Develop and refine underwriting performance analytics across Life, LTC, and IDI, including cohort-level segmentation and comparative performance insights where relevant
  • Contribute analytical support to financial analysis, including underwriting expense analysis and cost-benefit assessments of major initiatives, in partnership with business and financial subject matter experts
  • Own targeted ad-hoc analyses and deep dives that inform business and leadership decisions, while maintaining disciplined ownership of core reporting deliverables

Dashboard & Analytical Delivery

  • Own and maintain dashboards supporting PX OKRs and performance metrics
  • Independently source, validate, and analyze complex operational data using SQL and BI tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Ensure reliability, usability, and sustainability of reporting assets and analytical outputs
  • Work with IT and data platform teams to resolve source-data, quality, or reporting dependency issues that affect analytical outputs, and contribute business requirements, metric definitions, validation, and documentation to cross-functional data and reporting initiatives

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Develop deep expertise in PX operations and new business data over time
  • Develop into a trusted resource for performance-related inquiries and investigations within areas of responsibility
  • Build credibility through sound judgment, clear communication, analytical rigor, and consistent ownership of deliverables

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience independently delivering analytical work and recurring reporting for business stakeholders, with an emphasis on surfacing meaningful business insights
  • Experience translating business questions or ambiguous objectives into structured quantitative analyses, metrics, and actionable insights, including investigating trends, anomalies, and underlying drivers
  • SQL proficiency with the ability to independently source, validate, and manipulate data for analytical and reporting needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and clearly explain findings, assumptions, and recommendations
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment, including seeking alignment when scope, assumptions or priorities are unclear
  • Willingness and ability to learn and work hands-on with BI and visualization tools used by the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in operational, underwriting, financial services, or process-driven environments
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Tableau or comparable BI tools
  • Experience developing leadership-facing reporting or presenting analytical findings to senior leaders
  • Exposure to financial analysis, business cases, or cost-benefit analysis
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar tools, and their responsible use to support analysis, research, documentation, and communication
