About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) in the Configurator Team, you will help shape the future of how buildings are designed, planned, and visualised at GROPYUS.

Our team develops the core planning and configuration platform used to create project layouts, floor plans, and visual representations during the sales and planning phases. We build the digital tools that enable users to design buildings, generate 2D floor plans, create interactive 3D visualisations, and orchestrate planning workflows across multiple systems.

In this role, you will help build the digital planning platform that transforms building requirements into actionable project data. Working across frontend and backend systems, you will develop interactive planning and configuration tools, create services that generate project assets such as floor plans and visualisations, and enable seamless orchestration of planning workflows across our platform.

You will work with technologies such as React, Fabric.js, Three.js, Kotlin, Azure, and event-driven architectures while contributing to the integration of AI-powered capabilities that enhance the planning experience. Together with a cross-functional team, you will tackle challenging problems at the intersection of software engineering, visualisation, automation, and construction technology.

As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of solutions from design through production, contribute to code quality and engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver reliable and scalable products that create value for our users.

What you bring:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience: Professional experience developing and operating production software across frontend and backend systems.
• Frontend expertise: Strong experience with React and modern TypeScript-based web applications.
• Backend development: Professional experience developing backend services with Kotlin
• Cloud-native mindset: Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems on Azure, AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud platform.
• AI curiosity and experimentation: Interest in building AI-powered product features and integrating modern AI capabilities into user workflows.
• Event-driven architecture: Experience building integrations using messaging systems, event buses, service buses, or event-streaming platforms.
• Modern engineering practices: Strong understanding of modern design patterns and experience or interest in pair programming and/or mob programming.
• Reliability mindset: Experience with highly available and resilient systems is a plus.
• Interactive graphics experience: Experience building graphical or visualisation-heavy applications using technologies such as Fabric.js, Three.js, WebGL, CAD-like tooling, or similar frameworks is a plus.
