Job description

Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo. For hybrid and remote roles, candidates are still required to reside within a commutable distance of our corporate headquarters in Vacaville, California.

We are unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of employment visas for this position. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available). 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:30 Non-Exempt.  This is a remote work arrangement with occasional onsite meetings at the corporate office in Vacaville.

Summary: Travis Credit Union’s Commercial Loan Administrator performs post-closing quality control, loan servicing, and operational support for Small Business and Commercial loan portfolios. The Administrator ensures timely and accurate quality control review for loan file completeness after closing, boarding, payment processing, collateral and insurance tracking, covenant and tickler management, general ledger reconciliation, exception management, and portfolio-level reporting. 

This role operates in partnership with Portfolio Management and independently from loan origination and document preparation to support safety and soundness, audit readiness, and a strong member experience. Activities align with supervisory expectations for sound loan portfolio management, including robust documentation controls, exception tracking, and effective communication to management.

Profile:

  • Boards new and renewed loans to the core and servicing systems with complete and accurate data and documents received from Loan Processing and confirms coding and setup.
  • Maintains comprehensive ticklers for financial statements, borrowing bases, insurance, taxes, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) continuations, flood determinations, and other servicing requirements; escalates and resolves exceptions within service levels.
  • Processes loan payments, advances, and payoffs; reconciles suspense and general ledger accounts and resolves out-of-balance conditions within acceptable timeframes.
  • Owns post-closing servicing and administration for assigned small business and commercial loans, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lines and term loans, consistent with policy and procedure.
  • Performs quality control review for loan file completeness after closing to ensure all required documents are present, properly completed, and stored and organized for audit readiness.
  • Coordinates covenant tracking data and servicing inputs that support Portfolio Management reviews and risk grading.
  • Administers collateral and insurance tracking, including evidence of coverage, flood compliance, force placement coordination per policy, and release procedures upon payoff.
  • Prepares timely and accurate portfolio, exception, and compliance reports for management, internal audit, and regulators.
  • For Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) loans, processes and remits monthly 1502 reports and maintains communication with SBA Loan Centers per policy and procedure, coordinating with Portfolio Management on credit-affecting matters.
  • Partners closely with Loan Processing, Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance, and Accounting to ensure clean files and efficient member experience.
  • Processes departmental invoices for payment.
  • Performs core system testing related to upgrades and enhancements that affect small business or commercial loan products.

                               
Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan servicing practices including quality control reviews, boarding, payment processing, escrow and reserve handling, and payoff processing.
  • Working knowledge of collateral perfection, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and continuations, insurance requirements, and flood compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with tickler systems and portfolio reporting; ability to maintain accurate, auditable records and resolve exceptions promptly.
  • Understanding of loan fee and interest calculations.
  • Functional grasp of Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) reporting, servicing, and liquidation processes at a procedural level for assistance and coordination purposes.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, including data integrity and reconciliation across systems and general ledgers.
  • Clear communication skills to coordinate with members and internal partners and to draft concise servicing notes and summaries.

Reporting and Experience:  

Commercial Loan Administrator

  • Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial loan servicing or operations, including collateral-intensive credits.

Senior Commercial Loan Administrator

  • Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of commercial loan servicing experience, including administration of complex commercial loan portfolios.

Compensation:

  • Commercial Loan Administrator:  Grade 11/Non-Exempt  $27.96 – $34.53
  • Senior Commercial Loan Administrator: Grade 12/Non-Exempt   $30.59 - $37.70
