Job description

Position Summary

Magpie Health Analytics is seeking a Program Director to provide senior leadership for major federal health programs and to support the continued growth of our federal services portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Services, the Program Director will be accountable for program performance, delivery, team effectiveness, customer relationships, and successful execution of contractual requirements.

The Program Director will initially assume responsibility for one major program, the role may expand to include oversight of additional programs, customer relationships, and strategic company initiatives as Magpie continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Company Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with CMS leadership and other key customer stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer priorities, challenges, and expectations and translate them into clear direction for program teams.
  • Anticipate customer needs and ensure Magpie and its partners consistently deliver high-quality, responsive support.
  • Progressively assume responsibility for additional programs and customer relationships as Magpie grows and capacity allows.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Support recompetes, proposals, and other business development activities related to assigned programs and customers.
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives and help develop scalable delivery and management practices as Magpie grows.

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Provide senior leadership for major CMS and federal health programs, with accountability for program performance, delivery, team effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure successful execution of contractual requirements, deliverables, schedules, performance standards, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor program performance and proactively identify and address delivery, staffing, contractual, financial, and customer risks.
  • Maintain visibility into program financial performance, staffing, budgets, forecasts, labor utilization, and subcontractor performance.
  • Lead through Project Managers, functional leaders, and other senior team members, providing direction, accountability, and support while maintaining overall responsibility for program outcomes.
  • Build collaborative, high-performing teams with clear roles, expectations, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible professional experience, including significant experience supporting federal government programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large or complex federal programs, projects, or portfolios.
  • Experience working directly with senior federal customers and building trusted client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting CMS, HHS, or other federal health agencies.
  • Experience leading programs involving healthcare data, research, policy, analytics, technical assistance, or technology.
  • Experience leading multi-contractor teams and managing subcontractor relationships.
  • Experience supporting federal contract growth, recompetes, and proposals.
  • PMP or other relevant program/project management certification.
