We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong development experience in Go and Python to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will lead and implement DevOps practices while leveraging your programming expertise to build automation tools, improve infrastructure, and enhance system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage our cloud infrastructure across multiple environments (all major clouds and self-hosted)
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using modern tooling and GitOps approaches
  • Build kubernetes operators and custom solutions using Go and Python
  • Lead CI/CD implementation and continuous improvement efforts
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security using modern stacks and OpenTelemetry
  • Be part of the DevOps on-call rotation (around 2 shifts per month)
  • Design and implement scalable and resilient architecture solutions
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues
  • Establish best practices for infrastructure management and security
  • Mentor junior team members on DevOps practices and technologies

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a similar role
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience in Go and/or Python
  • Strong experience with GitOps and infrastructure as code tools (ArgoCD, Flux, Terraform)
  • Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/Concourse)
  • Proficiency with monitoring, logging, and observability tools and practices (Prometheus Stack and OTel)
  • Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • You can explain Kubernetes to your non-technical friends without making their eyes glaze over
  • Knowledge of database administration (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with message brokers and event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Familiarity with service mesh concepts (Envoy, Istio, Linkerd)
  • Experience with GitOps workflows
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Your infrastructure diagrams are works of art (or at least comprehensible)
  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring other engineers
