Intermediate Hydrologist Vancouver, BC; Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB; Whitehorse, YT; Remote | Regular Full-Time     As a Hydrologist IV, you are responsible for providing technical expertise in hydrological analysis and design. This role leads the design and field implementation of surface water monitoring networks, manages and QA/QCs hydrology datasets in specialized software, develops project water balances, and reports on hydrological studies for internal teams, clients, and regulatory review.
About the Role
  • Provide hydrological technical input to projects throughout Ensero.
  • Coordinate hydrological field programs, including scope, methods, and quality standards.
  • Support baseline hydrological characterization programs and associated analysis and modeling.
  • Assist with the conceptual design and implementation of surface water and hydrometric monitoring programs, including field implementation and ongoing data collection and maintenance.
  • Work closely with field leads, meteorologists and project managers to integrate hydrology data collection , management, and analysis with broader project objectives.
  • Support stage-discharge rating curve development and QA/QC processing of automated water level and discharge data.
  • Process, review, and QA/QC hydrology and meteorology dataset management across projects, using hydrologic databases and time-series software, such as AQUARIUS.
  • Support the preparation and submissions of technical reports to regulatory agencies and ensure deliverables meet applicable regulatory requirements, project objectives, and internal quality standards.
  • Provide hydrological input to environmental assessments, permitting applications, and other regulatory deliverables for Ensero projects and clients.
  • Integrate hydrology data, analysis, and reporting with meteorology, field, and project management teams to maintain consistency and alignment across projects.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff across Ensero, building technical capability in the discipline.
  • All other related duties as required.

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in hydrology, environmental or natural sciences.
    • 7+ years of previous experience working in environmental consulting, A/E/C or relevant industry
    • Ability to work effectively with team members
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
