Job description

Crane Operator (NCCO Certified)

Work Location:

  • The physical location for this position is at any jobsite, which could be in any state. The ability to travel and adapt to different job sites is essential. Job sites may vary based on project requirements, and crane operators must be prepared to work in various geographical locations and conditions.

Equipment:

  • Cranes: Lattice boom crawlers (50-ton to 150-ton capacity), All terrain, rubber tired cranes.

Types of Crane Work:

  • Pile driving with swinging leads
  • Pile driving with a suspended vibro hammer
  • Sheet piling
  • Hook work

Position Responsibilities: Crane Operators are responsible for a variety of tasks including:

  • Operating friction and hydraulic cranes
  • Cleaning, fueling, greasing, and performing preventative maintenance
  • Conducting minor repairs to equipment
  • Working in an exclusively outdoor environment, often in all weather conditions

This role requires individuals with good stamina, eyesight, hearing, balance, and physical strength. Operators need to be constantly alert to ensure safety and efficiency. Crane operators must meet physical requirements established by applicable ASME/ANSI standards and be certified by NCCCO.

Requirements:

  • Constant sitting, reaching, and grasping
  • NCCO Certified
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, and use of hand tools
  • Strong vision capabilities, including acuity, depth perception, and field of vision
  • Effective communication skills for safety and operational coordination

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of equipment operating experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations
  • Positive references from previous employers

  • Steel-toed work boots
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Suitable work pants with no holes
  • 25-foot tape measure
  • 12-inch adjustable wrench
