Staff Tax Accountant – Remote (Must reside in MST or PST/ Headquartered in Bellevue, WA)

VWC, a local CPA firm is seeking a full-time Staff Tax Accountant to join the Tax Department.
Under the supervision of the Tax Department Partner, the Staff Tax Accountant works closely with clients and internal team members to provide accurate tax preparation and accounting support. This role is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, as well as tax projections, payroll tax filings, and other related tax services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering accurate work while maintaining the highest level of client confidentiality and professionalism.
Occasional travel required (1-2 times per year). VWC covers all travel and lodging costs for remote employees.

About the work: 

• Prepare personal tax returns. 
• Prepare trust, estate, and gift tax returns. 
• Prepare corporate, partnership, and S-Corp returns. 
• Prepare amended returns and income tax projections. 
• Comply with Federal, state, and local statutes and regulations. 
• Keep client information confidential. 
• Ensure that business licenses are renewed and paid on time. 
• Foster positive communications and working relationships with team members and clients. 
• Work closely with the seniors/managers. 
• Keep up to date on industry trends and laws as well as professional standards. 
• Adhere to company policies and procedures. 
• Actively participate in and conduct meetings as requested. 
• Other duties as assigned.  

About you: 

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or related experience or a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting will be considered in lieu of degree. 
• Candidate should be detail oriented, efficient in meeting deadlines in advance of due dates, efficient in streamlining processes.   
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
• Must be a self-starter, organized, and have an eye for detail. 
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients, team members and management. 
• Team player who collaborates with other team members in the organization. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including conducting research as needed to evaluate all aspects of a situation. 
• Ability to function in a highly confidential environment. 
• Ability to pass a background check (includes criminal and credit) upon receiving and accepting an employment offer.

Compensation: $74.5 - $ 100K DOE
