General Summary
This position works as a member of the Absence Consulting Practice. The role is primarily responsible for producing standard and ad hoc reporting & analytical reporting packages that will help employers gain insight into their leave of absence, disability, and life insurance. The senior analyst is a member of the broader cross functional business team that provides analytics, consulting, and operational solutions to our Group Insurance customers and internal stakeholders.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Function as a member of the customer business team to provide a strategic, data-informed approach to the development of claims reporting packages for employers
  • Works within a cross-functional team to complete analysis for annual, semi-annual and finalist meetings as well as ad-hoc reporting packages
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of various customer dashboards and data pipelines
  • Maintain and update analytic services templates, scripts, and documentation
  • Provide a variety of reporting and analysis in addition to above including ad hoc customer reporting, industry analysis, benchmark analysis, regression analysis, etc.
  • Participate in internal meetings to explain/review the data visualizations and concepts prior to presentation to a customer
  • Leverage industry and analytics expertise to design innovative reporting solutions that enhance client value
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Minimum educational requirement of a BA or BS degree, preferably in a quantitative field
  • Basic understanding of health, disability, and life data
  • Possesses critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Basic knowledge in programing language such as R or Python
  • Basic knowledge with SQL/query tools and techniques
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Power BI or another data visualization platform
  • Ability to explain complex data to a wide audience
  • Highly attentive to detail
  • Works well under pressure, managing multiple/changing priorities within tight deadlines
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with internal and external partners
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated solid presentation/facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Self-starter, able to set goals that stretch abilities
  • Basic negotiation skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Bonus: Experience with AWS and Redshift

What we offer you:


Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $76,000.00 to $125,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
