Job Information:

Job Summary:

Provide insurance, claims and data management support for the Virtua System for all areas relating to Virtua’s insurance program.  Serve as a liaison between internal departments, insurance brokers, and carriers to ensure all insurance records, certificates, and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities

Supports Claims and Insurance Analyst to obtain and provide all necessary insurance certificates to system clients and outside entities.  Requires reviewing applicable contracts and the insurance coverage requirements therein.
-    Maintain bond automobile and property insurance databases, ensuring accurate records and data integrity across all insured assets.
-    Coordinate the addition, modification, and removal of vehicles and properties on applicable insurance policies to ensure continuous and appropriate coverage.
-    Gather, verify, and maintain property exposure information including square footage, contents values, tenant improvements (fit-out values), occupancy, and property usage for insurance underwriting and renewal purposes.
-    Collaborate with Virtua's Purchasing Department to obtain and maintain required documentation for fleet vehicles and Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) vehicles, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
-    Maintain the physician and allied healthcare provider insurance database in partnership with the organization's insurance broker.
-    Coordinate with Medical Affairs to ensure professional liability coverage is secured and maintained for employed and affiliated clinical providers, including the timely procurement of certificates of insurance.
Process and fulfill claims history requests for employed physicians and other clinical providers, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
Maintain insurance department budget spreadsheets and track expenditures to support effective financial management.  Maintain the organization of all insurance policies electronically.
Process all invoices related to insurance department operations, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and timely payment.
-    Manage all automobile claims and patient lost/damaged item claims serve as the primary liaison between insurance carriers and internal stakeholders.
-    Collect and submit required claim documentation, including incident reports, photographs, and supporting records.
-    Ensure claim-related reimbursements and settlement checks are distributed to the appropriate departments and properly tracked.
Other administrative duties assigned include mail sorting and scheduling. 

Position Qualifications Required: 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, legal assistant, or a combination thereof.

  • Detail oriented, proactive approach to work responsibilities, accuracy in work product and timely deliverables.

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of insurance industry terminology required.

  • Ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.

  • Experience with Oracle preferred.

Required Education:

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, relevant insurance designation or Paralegal Degree/Certification.

  • Relevant experience of seven (7) years may be substituted for education.

Training / Certification / Licensures:

Hourly Rate: $27.01 - $41.99
