What You Will Do:

Guidehouse Quality Assurance (QA) Testers play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions across client engagements. They work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to design and execute testing activities that validate functionality, performance, usability, and compliance requirements. Our QA Testers are expected to be detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools.

They contribute throughout the software development lifecycle and help identify issues early to support successful delivery and client satisfaction. QA Testers also assist with test automation efforts to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and repeatability across releases.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate with development and business teams to understand application requirements and support testing strategies.
  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Perform functional, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Validate application functionality against business and technical requirements.
  • Document defects clearly and track them through resolution.
  • Support the development and maintenance of traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and testing results.
  • Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test scripts, test results, and status reports.
  • Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies to align testing activities with development cycles.
  • Support automated testing and continuous testing practices within Agile delivery teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, usability, accessibility, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.

What You Will Need:

  • U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Experience developing and executing test cases and test scripts.
  • Experience supporting functional testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.
  • Experience creating, documenting, and tracking software defects through resolution.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
  • Experience supporting federal government technology modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with performance and load testing.
  • Experience testing financial management, budgeting, acquisition, procurement, or workflow management solutions.
  • Familiarity with Appian applications or other low-code platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility compliance requirements, including Section 508.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00-$124,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
