Job description

The START Center for Cancer Research (“START”) is the world’s largest early phase site network, fully dedicated to oncology clinical research. Throughout our history, START has provided hope to cancer patients in global community practices by offering "Hope Through Access” to cutting edge trials throughout the United States and Europe.

Position Summary

The Senior Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end ownership of technology products and enterprise-wide implementations across START's clinical research operations. This role leads the full product lifecycle — from discovery and requirements definition through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement — for high-complexity, cross-functional initiatives spanning US and EU locations. The Senior Product Manager partners with clinical, operations, IT, and vendor teams to align product strategy with organizational priorities, manage competing demands across the portfolio, and ensure that implementations deliver measurable value. This role serves as the primary escalation point for product-level risks, cross-team dependencies, and executive stakeholder communications, and reports directly to the Sr. Director of Business Relationship and Delivery.

This is a remote role. The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000. However, base pay may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm

Location: Remote

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned platforms and implementations, from initial discovery through go-live, adoption, and post-launch optimization.
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, portfolio priorities, and capacity constraints.
  • Lead discovery efforts: facilitate stakeholder sessions, conduct needs assessments, and translate complex clinical and operational requirements into prioritized product backlogs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors to ensure shared understanding of scope, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Drive portfolio prioritization decisions, including benefits realization analysis, capacity planning, and trade-off recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Lead the planning and execution of enterprise system implementations and integrations, coordinating cross-functional teams across clinical, operations, IT, and third-party partners.
  • Define success metrics and acceptance criteria for product releases; monitor adoption and outcomes post-launch and drive corrective action as needed.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage product-level risks and issues; provide executive-appropriate status communications and escalation summaries.
  • Champion process improvement and change management practices, ensuring implementations are supported by appropriate training, documentation, and stakeholder readiness activities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Product Managers, establishing standards for requirements documentation, delivery practices, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to product and delivery practices.
