Job description

Be Part of What's Next

Bring bold visual storytelling to one of the internet's most-loved food brands. As Temporary Designer at Delish, you'll help shape engaging experiences across digital, social, video, and print, creating work that inspires millions of food lovers every day.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

Hearst Magazines is one of the largest publishers in the world, with 30 brands, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Harper’s BAZAAR, Popular Mechanics, and Delish. We reach more than 150 million people every month in the United States alone. But we’re more than just our magazines. We engage our audience across all mediums and channels—print, digital, video, and social—with sophisticated content creation, distribution, and data capabilities. We create, package, and sell products with cutting-edge technology and proprietary platforms. Together, we are reinventing publishing for the 21st century.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Design compelling creative assets for digital, social, video, and print platforms that elevate the Delish brand.
  • Collaborate with social and video teams to develop templates, graphic systems, title cards, lower thirds, end cards, thumbnails, and other visual assets for recurring content series.
  • Translate digital templates into Figma to support efficient editorial workflows.
  • Build and manage content within the content management system while maintaining brand consistency and quality.
  • Create engaging recipe graphics, infographics, and social media assets for platforms including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Design magazine layouts, manage production files throughout the creative process, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Set up Figma files for new quarterly issues and export/package final files for production.
  • Produce occasional editorial illustrations and support cross-functional creative initiatives as needed.

Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably within publishing, editorial media, or a related creative environment.
  • Experience designing for editorial, digital, and social platforms while maintaining a cohesive visual brand identity.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, and a basic understanding of HTML.
  • Strong typography, photo-editing, and visual storytelling skills with a portfolio demonstrating excellence across digital and social media.
  • Ability to distinguish platform-specific design needs rather than simply resizing assets across channels.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to incorporate feedback, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and comfortable working independently while partnering across creative and editorial teams.
  • Motion design, animation, video editing, or Adobe After Effects experience is a plus.
  • This is a fully remote position.

The hourly rate for this role is $40.00–$50.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
