Job description

General Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Accounting Manager owns key components of BeOne Medicines’ daily accounting operations, general ledger governance, fixed asset accounting, and month- and quarter-end close execution. This hands-on leadership role partners closely with internal finance stakeholders, shared service teams, external auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective controls, and continuous improvement across core accounting processes. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly close process, including close calendar management, journal entry review, account reconciliation oversight, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage general ledger accounting operations, fixed asset responsibilities, and related accounting activities to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, with particular emphasis on SOX 404 compliance, control documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, tax, internal stakeholders, shared service teams, and external auditors to support accurate reporting, tax return preparation, quarterly reviews, and annual audits.
  • Identify and implement process, system, and automation improvements that increase efficiency, improve control effectiveness, and support evolving business needs.
  • Lead or support cross-functional accounting initiatives and other finance projects as business priorities require.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • Provide functional oversight to shared service accounting resources responsible for cash reconciliation and related accounting activities.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus.

Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting operations experience required; biotechnology industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the role of finance and accounting in supporting the company’s strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial close activities, audits, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven success working well under pressure, highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across functions.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Computer Skills:   

  • Experience using SAP preferred.
  • Experience using Blackline JE and Reconciliation Software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to Home Office in San Carlos.

Salary Range: $111,800.00 - $151,800.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
