Job description

Remote Recruitment is hiring a Records Administrator for a UK-based employer, fully remote from South Africa. You will own the integrity of a UK company’s records — correctly filed, correctly named, retained for the right period and findable in seconds.

This suits a methodical person who takes quiet pride in a system that is genuinely accurate, working long term with a UK business from home in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

  • File, index and archive documents to the agreed structure
  • Check records for completeness and correct errors
  • Apply retention and disposal schedules
  • Retrieve records and respond to internal requests
  • Maintain logs, registers and audit trails
  • Support data clean-up and migration projects

What you'll need

  • Experience in a records, document control or administrative role
  • Comfortable with Microsoft 365, SharePoint or Google Workspace
  • Methodical, accurate and consistent with naming and filing
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • A reliable fibre connection, a working laptop and a quiet place to work

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with a document management system
  • Exposure to data protection or retention policy
  • Experience supporting an audit

What's on offer

  • 100% remote — work from anywhere in South Africa
  • Working hours of 09:00–17:00 UK time (11:00–19:00 SAST), Monday to Friday
  • Long-term placement with a stable UK employer
  • Ongoing support from the Remote Recruitment team throughout your placement
