Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to meet the company's evolving needs for goods and services, aligning with business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Identify, rigorously evaluate, and strategically select suppliers based on a balanced assessment of quality, price, delivery reliability, and overall partnership potential.
  • Lead and execute negotiations for contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value, cost savings, and favorable payment terms.
  • Proactively manage and nurture supplier relationships, continuously monitor performance against agreed-upon metrics, and conduct regular, constructive reviews to foster strong partnerships.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, economic indicators, and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for significant cost savings and drive continuous process improvements within the procurement function.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulatory requirements throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal departments to thoroughly understand their specific procurement requirements and provide expert guidance and support.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance data, and manage inventory levels where applicable to optimize stock and minimize holding costs.
  • Promptly and effectively resolve any issues, disputes, or challenges that may arise with suppliers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement and optimization of procurement processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop category strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging procurement technologies and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and efficient in its sourcing efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of proven, progressive experience as a Procurement Buyer, Category Manager, or in a similar strategic sourcing and procurement role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced negotiation techniques and robust contract management skills, with a track record of successful deal closures.
  • A deep and comprehensive understanding of fundamental procurement principles, strategic sourcing methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • High proficiency in utilizing modern procurement software, e-sourcing platforms, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a proven capacity for complex problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport with diverse internal and external parties.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and effectively manage workload in a remote setting, while also demonstrating strong collaborative skills within a team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and quality in all procurement activities.
  • Solid familiarity with various sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management frameworks, and robust supplier evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience in managing indirect spend categories is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM or CIPS are a plus.
