Manufacturing Automation Engineer

Location: Hanoi North, Vietnam

Jabra is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join the Global Industrialization team. In this role, you will help optimize and automate production lines, supporting stable, high-quality mass production across our Tier 1 supplier network in South East Asia.

You will drive automation and continuous-improvement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, capacity, and flexibility in manufacturing. Working closely with Tier 1 manufacturing partners, R&D, and the Global Industrialization team, you will ensure that production processes and automation solutions are ready for successful ramp-up and long-term operation.

Production Optimization and Cost Reduction Through Automation

A key focus of this role is to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and competitiveness through practical automation solutions.
 

  • Identify and assess opportunities to reduce manual work and improve man-minutes per unit through automation and semi-automation.

  • Analyze production processes, equipment performance, and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Challenge existing manual methods and develop robust, scalable automation solutions for mass production.

  • Work closely with Tier 1 supplier engineering teams to design, test, implement, and optimize automation equipment and processes.

  • Support automation of stable production processes, ensuring solutions deliver sustainable improvements in productivity, quality, and operator safety.

  • Collaborate with Jabra’s Manufacturing Test team to improve test automation performance and integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

  • Use production KPIs and data to measure the impact of automation initiatives and verify achieved improvements.

  • Document automation solutions, process settings, and performance results to support replication across relevant production lines and sites.

The Profile We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Automation engineering, production engineering or manufacturing Test, preferably within the consumer electronics industry.

  • Experience in design code automation systems & platforms. Programming knowledge of robotics, PLC, OPC-UA

  • Experience working directly with Tier 1 EMS/ODM/OEM manufacturing partners is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in Automation implementation with hands-on experience

  • Knowledge of local suppliers capabilities in South East Asia is a benefit

Strong communication skills in English are required. Chinese language skills are an advantage. This position is primarily based at the factory in the North Vietnam region (primarily Phú Thọ, Bắc Ninh, Hải Phòng areas – but not limited to these) and the candidate is expected to primarily work onsite at our Tier 1 partner sites. The role involves approximately 40% travel, mainly within the region, with occasional international travel in south east asia countries

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office package, Word & Azure DevOps.
