Position Information

This position monitors and facilitates compliance with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) regulatory and governing standards, including but not limited to laws, regulations, statutes, codes, policies, procedures, rules, and directives, as well as compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and investigate cases involving allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse, or other policy violations. Acts as an investigator, teaming up with the director, lead investigator, or subject matter experts as needed. Facilitates investigative interviews, drafts investigative reports, informs agency leadership of findings and provides recommendations for follow-up action.

- Serves as the AgriLife Rules Coordinator by maintaining the library of rules, procedures, and guidelines. Responsible for the workflow to review, revise, and approve existing rules and procedures and assist in drafting new language.

- Assists the AgriLife Public Information Officer and serves in a backup capacity: Compiles and organizes data associated with public records requests.

- Member of the Management Review Team: visits and facilitates on-site reviews of off-campus Research and Extension centers. Reviews records retention procedures, training procedures, file management procedures, and Technology Control Plan Information.

- Act as the liaison and approver of the agency programs for minors. Perform review for completeness and accuracy of the program risk assessments.

- Assist with the annual Enterprise Risk Management process.

- Assists in maintaining an effective and broad-based compliance program based upon ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws, policies, rules, and procedures.

- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and recommends a plan of action to bring any non-compliant areas into compliance. Responds to apparent violations of policies, procedures, or other regulatory standards by recommending and participating in investigative procedures.

- Assists AgriLife Administrative Services in the implementation and update of System and AgriLife polices, rules and procedures.

- Assists the Ethics and Compliance Director in operational and best practice reviews, including organizational structure, and efficiency studies.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold a current CFE or CCEP certification
  • Knowledge of TAMUS structure
  • Experience with Maestro, FAMIS, CircuiTree, AggieBuy, Concur, etc.
  • Knowledge of state and federal public information laws.

Other Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the fiscal year. 

What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications. 

Flexible Work Arrangements: This is not a remote work position. Flexible work schedules and remote work options may be available for this position, depending on the nature of the role and employee eligibility, in accordance with AgriLife Alternate Work Location Procedures. However, be prepared to work onsite during normal business hours M-F 8:00-5:00.
