Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a new graduate software engineer to join the team building k0rdent AI — the multi-tenant control plane for enterprise GPU infrastructure. You will write Go services, Kubernetes tooling, and tests that run against real clusters, working alongside senior engineers across the US, Europe, and India who will review your code and invest in your growth.

This is a role for someone with range and appetite. We do not expect you to arrive knowing our stack — we expect you to learn it fast, ask sharp questions, and take on whatever the team needs next, whether that is a backend service, a test harness, an SDK, or a debugging session in a live cluster. Working within an agile framework, you will ship real features to production, not sit on the sidelines of the interesting work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and extend Go services, database schemas, and REST API endpoints for the k0rdent AI platform.

  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as a normal part of every change.

  • Debug failures across the stack — from an API response, through service code and workflow orchestration, down to a Kubernetes cluster.

  • Contribute to internal tooling, automation, and client SDKs that make the whole team faster.

  • Participate in code review — both receiving detailed feedback and, over time, giving it.

  • Write and update technical documentation so the next person does not have to rediscover what you learned.

  • Take on unfamiliar problems, learn the surrounding technology, and come back with a working answer.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent demonstrated ability.

  • Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, and how HTTP and databases actually work.

  • Proficiency in at least one systems or backend language (Go, Java, C++, Rust, C#, or Python) and the ability to become productive in Go quickly.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data modeling.

  • Comfort with Git, the command line, and Linux.

  • Evidence of self-driven building — internships, personal projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, or coursework you took further than the assignment required.

  • Clear written communication; able to explain a problem and a proposed fix in text to a distributed team.

  • Genuine curiosity about infrastructure, distributed systems, and how large-scale platforms are built.

Must Have

  • The "I'll figure it out" instinct — you research, experiment, and read source code before asking to be unblocked, and you ask a well-formed question when you are.

  • Something you built and can walk us through in detail: what it does, why you designed it that way, and what you would change now.

  • Willingness to be reviewed rigorously and to treat feedback as the fastest way to get better.

  • Testing instinct — you can explain how you know your own code works.

  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Go in a project, internship, or coursework.

  • Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes (docker, kubectl, Helm) at any depth.

  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Any experience with REST API design, OpenAPI, or client SDKs.

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).

  • Interest in or coursework on AI/ML infrastructure, GPU computing, or distributed systems.

  • Python or TypeScript for testing and tooling.

  • Open-source contributions of any size — issues, docs, and small fixes all count.

  • Security or systems-programming coursework, CTF participation, or similar.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering or related field or 6months to 1 year related experience.
