About the Role 

Plus Power is looking to hire an Asset Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Plus Power’s stand-alone storage projects. The Asset Manager will collaborate across internal functions including Front Office and Analytics Services, Finance and Accounting, Legal, and Engineering Procurement & Construction, while managing the activities of third-party contractors to ensure word class asset management for Plus Power’s operating projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of utility-scale, stand-alone battery energy storage systems (BESS) 
  • Monitor the performance of assets and analyze plant metrics on an ongoing basis and against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to find anomalies and improve plant performance 
  • Provide qualitative analysis, reporting and recommendations to manage the assets and deliver transparency and reporting for an executive level 
  • Work with the Accounting and Analytic Services departments to prepare operational budgets 
  • Manage O&M and related third party agreements to ensure compliance from service providers and to develop long-term relationships 
  • Coordinate and supervise third party contractors’ planned maintenances schedules and work performance while minimizing the impact on production  
  • Coordinate outages and unplanned maintenance including the investigation, analysis, and resolution of system issues 
  • Conduct and analyze risk assessments and initiate preventive as well as corrective actions 
  • Support pre-construction engineering, EPC, and development functions with review of plant designs and contract terms related to operations 
  • Help manage internal handover of BESS from construction to operations 
  • Manage compliance contractors for adherence with ongoing NERC/ISO procedures, reporting requirements and training of operations staff 
  • Ensure strict compliance with all project operating agreements 

Skills & Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of asset management experience in the renewable energy industry 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business, or a related field 
  • Experience in Power, Energy, Renewables, or BESS with familiarity of industry-specific terminology; knowledge of BESS technology and/or SCADA systems is a plus 
  • Working knowledge of ERCOT and other ISO/RTO market structures, with experience managing merchant energy assets and navigating regulatory, compliance, and market participation requirements 
  • Ability to read and interpret PPAs, LGIAs, Financing Agreements, and other project contracts 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality results 
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, driving a desire to learn and grow within the company and the industry 
  • Demonstrated dependability and accountability, with a strong track record of meeting deadlines, following through on commitments, and taking ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences 
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading and delivering projects under tight deadlines 
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and remain flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment 
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work and identifying errors or inconsistencies before final delivery 
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the United States roughly 20% of the time 
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools and applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $150,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
