Job Description:

The Payroll and Benefit specialists supports the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and labour administration activities for South Africa. The role is responsible for maintaining payroll data, processing routine payroll transactions, supporting employee queries and ensuring compliance with internal processes. The Payroll Administrator works closely with Payroll Specialists, the local delivery team and the wider P&C Operations & Advisory team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform payroll administration activities in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.

  • Prepare and process payroll-related data changes, including hires, terminations, absences, benefits and employee master data updates.

  • Support monthly payroll processing by ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

  • Carry out payroll validations and assist with payroll reconciliations.

  • Monitor and maintain employee records in payroll and HR systems.

  • Support labour administration activities and ensure required documentation is complete and up to date.

  • Respond to employee payroll-related queries and escalate complex cases when necessary.

  • Assist with payroll reporting and preparation of standard and ad hoc reports.

  • Support administration of employee benefits and cafeteria-related transactions.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure smooth payroll operations.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support payroll-related projects when required.

Essential Education:

  • Secondary school diploma (high school graduation)

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred, although relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative.

  • Payroll, labour administration, or social insurance training/certification is an advantage

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

  • Some experience in payroll, HR administration or a related administrative field.

  • Experience working with HR and payroll systems is an advantage.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
