POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports AASHE by creating the AASHE Bulletin electronic newsletter and managing the annual AASHE Awards program. This position also supports to participants in the Sustainability Tracking Assessment & Rating System (STARS) and assists with STARS technical development and data quality outreach.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles, writes, edits, produces and distributes the AASHE Bulletin e-newsletter and related website while developing/implementing strategies to produce the Bulletin more efficiently
  • Leads ongoing technical and customer support for STARS participants
  • Manages the STARS Support Cohort
  • Manages the AASHE Awards program, including judging process and the presentation ceremony
  • Manages the AASHE events calendar
  • Contributes to STARS technical development
  • Assists with STARS data quality outreach
  • Performs other work as assigned
Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience developing and publishing content
  • Broad understanding of, and commitment to, sustainability in higher education
  • Basic understanding of, and commitment to, representation, belonging & fairness
  • Collaborative attitude
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with limited supervision
  • High-level analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to effectively, tactfully and diplomatically communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as individuals outside of the organization 
  • Proficiency in the use of productivity and communications applications (e.g., Google Workspace products, Constant Contact, Zoom, Slack, Trello, Wordpress)
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to set priorities and adapt to changing priorities, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically and perform tactically
  • Analytical and critical decision-making skills
  • Project management and facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines
  • Able to manage and maintain a fully functioning professional home office
Salary Description $65,000-75,000
