Senior Shopify Developer

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shopify Developer to design, develop, and optimize Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building end-to-end eCommerce solutions using both Shopify Liquid and Hydrogen, along with hands-on experience in custom theme development, integrations, performance optimization, and scalable storefront architecture.

• Design, develop, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus eCommerce websites.
  
• Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Shopify APIs.
  
• Develop modern headless commerce solutions using Shopify Hydrogen and related frontend technologies.
  
• Implement complete storefronts from design handoff through deployment and post-launch support.
  
• Develop custom features, integrations, and applications within the Shopify ecosystem.
  
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  
• Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and user experience.
  
• Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, OMS, and marketing automation platforms.
  
• Work with Shopify Storefront API, Admin API, GraphQL, and REST APIs to build and enhance platform capabilities.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring platform stability and reliability.
  
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
  
• Support deployment activities, release management, and post-production maintenance.
  
• Contribute to technical discussions and provide guidance to junior developers when required.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in web development with at least 3+ years focused on Shopify development.
  
• Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid, Shopify Theme Architecture, and Shopify Plus.
  
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Hydrogen, headless commerce architecture, and modern frontend frameworks.
  
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, HTML5, and CSS3.
  
• Experience with Shopify Storefront API, Admin API, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
  
• Experience implementing Shopify websites from scratch.
  
• Knowledge of Shopify app integrations and custom app development.
  
• Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, customer journeys, checkout flows, and payment integrations.
  
• Experience integrating third-party applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
  
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
  

• Experience working with Shopify Plus stores.
  
• Knowledge of Node.js and backend integrations.
  
• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, or Strapi.
  
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, GTM, SEO, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
  
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  
• Experience working in distributed or cross-functional teams.
  

• End-to-end implementation and maintenance of Shopify storefronts.
  
• Development of both Hydrogen and Liquid-based eCommerce experiences.
  
• Custom theme development, enhancement, and optimization.
