Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced UX Researcher to support a Product Risk & Compliance research team focused on understanding and mitigating product risk across a global family of applications. This researcher will partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Policy, Product Management, Design, and Data Science to conduct high impact research that informs both product and policy decisions.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a researcher who can independently lead complex, large scale mixed methods research programs, provide methodological direction, and operate effectively when research questions, timelines, and stakeholder needs are evolving.

The work goes beyond feature optimization. Research findings can influence decisions related to product risk, regulatory considerations, compliance, and user trust. The researcher will gain direct exposure to Legal, Policy, and Compliance stakeholders while tackling questions that require both qualitative depth and quantitative rigor.

This is not a usability only research role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate genuine mixed methods depth, hands on quantitative analysis, strong methodological judgment, and examples of research that materially influenced product, policy, or business decisions. Candidates should be comfortable explaining why they selected a particular methodology, the tradeoffs involved, and how they addressed sampling, bias, and research validity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute complex mixed methods research using interviews, diary studies, surveys, concept evaluation, and usability research
  • Own research projects end to end, including research planning, participant criteria, recruiting, fielding, analysis, synthesis, and stakeholder readouts
  • Select appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies based on the research question, timeline, and business need
  • Conduct quantitative analysis including survey analysis, sampling, weighting, descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics
  • Triangulate qualitative findings, quantitative data, and product or behavioral signals
  • Translate research findings into clear, actionable recommendations that influence product and policy direction
  • Partner closely with Product, Compliance, Legal, Policy, Design, and Data Science teams
  • Communicate and socialize insights across teams beyond the immediate product group
  • Maintain clear research documentation and project handoffs
  • Independently navigate ambiguous research questions, compressed timelines, shifting priorities, and evolving stakeholder needs

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of UX Research, Product Research, or related research experience
  • Demonstrated experience independently designing and executing mixed methods research
  • Strong qualitative research expertise across multiple methodologies
  • Strong quantitative research capabilities, including survey design, sampling, data cleaning, weighting, and statistical analysis
  • Experience using statistical or scripting tools such as R, Python, or SPSS
  • Ability to evaluate methodological tradeoffs and adapt research approaches as constraints change
  • Experience identifying and addressing sampling, bias, and research validity considerations
  • Proven examples of research influencing meaningful product, policy, or business decisions
  • Experience working with cross functional partners in fast moving, ambiguity heavy environments
  • Strong understanding of research ethics and participant privacy requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting international or multi market research
  • Experience working with large scale behavioral or product log data alongside primary research
  • Experience with in house survey platforms
  • Experience conducting research within a large scale technology environment
  • Experience with product risk, compliance, integrity, safety, policy, regulatory, or other high consequence research areas
