Position Overview

The Enterprise Asset Program Manager is responsible for implementing, operationalizing, and owning Autodesk's enterprise hardware asset management capability across PCs, Macs, mobile phones, and other end-user hardware. This role serves as the accountable owner for establishing accurate, governed asset data as the trusted system of record across the full lifecycle, from catalog and standards definition through governance, financial strategy, and cross-departmental asset architecture.

This is a hands-on role. The person in this seat will personally build and operate these processes, carrying forward and executing on recommendations from a recent external assessment of Autodesk's fulfillment, distribution, and ITAD practices, not simply direct others toward them. The role is structured as an individual contributor today; prior experience leading people or cross-functional programs is valued for how someone approaches ownership and accountability, even without direct reports in this seat.

This role owns asset management for a global population of approximately 21,500 employees and contingent workers, covering an estimated 60,000+ devices across computers, mobile phones, and loaner and spare inventory. The role oversees a significant, multi-million dollar annual hardware program and is accountable for continuing this function's demonstrated track record of cost discipline and savings.

Responsibilities

Asset Program Architecture and Governance

  • Define the program's strategy, roadmap, and operating model, including cross-functional roles and governance cadences with Finance, Procurement, and Security, moving the program from initial implementation into stable, ongoing operations

  • Establish and enforce a hardware governance framework, including a governance board, ensuring standards stay current against the market and defined personas

  • Own and mature the customization and exception governance process for requests outside standard catalog offerings

  • Work across departments that use end-user hardware in an advisory and architectural capacity, including managing global VAR vendor relationships

Catalog and Standards

  • Define and implement persona-based hardware standards and device catalog tiers, informed by industry practice

  • Evaluate customization and upgrade requests on technical merit, distinguishing genuine need from preference

  • Build a compliance and security vetting process for new hardware models with the security team

Lifecycle Operations and Data Accuracy

  • Establish consistent controls across the full hardware lifecycle, from request and procurement through deployment, recovery, refresh, and secure disposal

  • Personally drive improvement of current asset database accuracy (approximately 60-70 percent today) and establish standards for data matching, reconciliation, and quality

  • Integrate asset management with discovery, endpoint management, identity, CMDB, procurement, and disposition systems, and align asset data with core ITSM processes

  • Drive automation of asset tracking and reconciliation workflows to reduce manual effort

Financial Strategy

  • Lead hardware asset financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis, with CapEx versus OpEx fluency

  • Own financial reconciliation against purchasing, accounts payable, the fixed-asset register, and general ledger, resolving variances in cost, ownership, and capitalization

  • Develop and report on asset management KPIs and dashboards for senior leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience owning enterprise asset management programs end-to-end. Not just project managing them, but accountable for outcomes and deliverables over multiple years, and can speak to this experiences

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field

  • Demonstrated experience operating at large enterprise scale (e.g., 50,000+ managed assets), including the systems, process rigor, and stakeholder complexity that scale requires

  • Hands-on experience with CMDB/ServiceNow data integration, including data hygiene, accuracy, and governance practices across device- and asset-level records

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full asset lifecycle (procurement, provisioning, refresh, redeployment, disposition) across device types, including mobile devices

  • Experience setting up or operating within formal change management processes (e.g., ITIL change/release management)

  • An engineering mindset toward process and systems: comfortable applying structured, repeatable approaches to workflow design and systems integration

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract or vendor cost management

  • Ability to build and present materials for senior leadership, including governance documentation (RACI, SLAs, XLAs) and program status/metrics

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Procurement, Security, and technical stakeholders

  • People leadership or management experience is a plus but not required for this role

  • Comfortable operating globally across time zones and driving change across regionally distributed teams

  • Experience with AI toolsets as its related to assets, systems, and asset data (CIs, etc.) a plus
