Job Description:

The Opportunity: HomeGoods | HomeSense (“HGHS”) at TJX is offering co-op opportunities in our Framingham, MA offices to students seeking to learn, grow and contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate organization. If you are inquisitive about how Store Operations drives store processes and reporting in order to support operations of a growing HGHS Stores Organization, then this opportunity is the right one for you! This co-op role will provide business and analytical support for critical initiatives that you will be on the ground floor developing and creating, all while learning and understanding the TJX retail business operating model. You will be assigned projects that contribute to business strategy, as well as assist with daily activities within the Financial Planning and Analysis team in Store Operations. You will collaborate with experienced professionals, managers and senior leaders, to ensure we are managing and executing assigned projects and deliverables in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. What you will do: ⁄ Gain valuable experience through a variety of job responsibilities, projects and initiatives in Store Operations ⁄ Perform your own analysis projects ⁄ Develop reports that empower leaders at all levels to make informed decisions and drive operational excellence ⁄ Conduct analyses essential for effective management and control of store expenses ⁄ Compile reports and historical data to facilitate the prompt development of Store budgets ⁄ Contribute to ongoing projects to be used in developing HGHS Store Operations strategy ⁄ Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments within TJX, including Finance, Human Resources, Distribution Services, Marketing and Loss Prevention ⁄ Engage with Management at all levels to facilitate effective communication and collaboration Each co-op will receive targeted supervision and guidance, hands-on training to facilitate learning, while given a high degree of autonomy - providing the tools for success in a global Fortune 85 retail environment. We are looking for current students who are highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to prioritize effectively, be proactive and flexible, and demonstrate a strong bias for action in a fast-paced professional environment. Additional skills include: ⁄ Students who are sincerely interested in a career in Retail Store Operations ⁄ Must be detail oriented ⁄ Advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, charts, v-look up, etc.) ⁄ Dashboarding experience preferred but not required (Power BI, Tableau, etc) ⁄ Proven leadership abilities with strong quantitative and analytical skills ⁄ Ability to work with numbers and create compelling presentations ⁄ Basic accounting skills ⁄ Ability to anticipate and think-through the impact of decisions ⁄ Excellent communicators, who are able to concisely and effectively deliver results ⁄ Strong interpersonal skills with experience in working in teams and communicating to groups ⁄ Demonstrated effective time management skills to ensure all projects are completed in an effective and timely manner ⁄ Ability to work in a fast paced environment on simultaneous projects both independently and in team environments ⁄ Willingness to seek out feedback, and ability to incorporate feedback to enhance performance Key Qualifications: ⁄ Students eligible for an intermediate to advanced co-op ⁄ Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, (Other majors may be considered)
