Job Description:

The Team: The Store Engineering group helps to drive efficient and profitable sales while still providing a great customer experience. We strive to achieve this through innovation and simplification encompassing everything from operational store layout, best methods for processes, merchandise delivery, the quantity of registers and dressing rooms, to equipment types and quantities. Our projects are accomplished in partnership with our Store Management teams, Field Executive teams and our business partners at the Home Office. We seek to identify, analyze, and recommend improvement opportunities within the context of the “off-price” model. The team also supports the creation and maintenance of engineered labor standards which drive over $1.5 billion in store payroll. The Opportunity: Marmaxx Store Operations at TJX is offering co-op opportunities at our Marlborough, MA office to students seeking to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic organization. What we offer: • View of a growing, global retailer • The responsibility of identifying business opportunities and trends • The opportunity to select stores for tests and initiatives and to evaluate the success of these programs using statistical tools and other techniques • The prospect to work with other functional areas of TJX such as Property Development and our Field Teams • Interaction with all levels of Home Office management • Analyze different aspects of the business, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on metrics Who We Are Looking For: We are looking for current students who are highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to prioritize effectively, be proactive and flexible, and demonstrate a strong bias for action in a fast-paced professional environment. Additional skills include: • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities • Ability to independently generate ideas and process improvements and be able to clearly articulate to the team • Ability to learn new processes quickly • Students with proven leadership abilities and strong work ethic • Previous employment in retail a strong plus Key Qualifications: • Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering • MS Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills
